C3C 1.22, the FP should be kept close to the capitol. It won't give you a second low corruption core. I usually play only huge maps and about the second ring out is where it seems to do me the most good.

@superslug
Hmm, I see. All the advice I've read keeps saying "as far away from the palace", that's why I asked if having a FP on a different continent is better. I'll try your advice then.

What's the approximate distance (number of tiles) of your 2nd ring from the capital city? I'm trying to follow ~Bamspeedy's~ builder article from the War Academy :)

My second ring distance varies depending on my map.

As far as putting your FP far far away, you've probably been reading about the Palace Rank Exploit which only applies to PTW and Vanilla. It was "fixed" for C3C.

When do planes use the Attack value and when do they use the Defense value?

If a fighter has 10 Attack and 4 Defense, which does he use when intercepts a bomber?

I'm not absolutely certain, but I think it's the attack value... since he's on "air superiority", and makes the first move. ;)

Yes, it does indeed. :)

Do pop units give +1 commerce per head (not per tile) in every government type?
Huh? Not sure what you're talking about here... are you asking whether each citizen in your city produces +1 commerce? I haven't ever heard of that... as far as I know, commerce is only produced by improvements, labourers working tiles, and specialists. The number of citizens has nothing to do with it, I believe...

Thats what I have found in my game. I was confused by the extra commerce I was getting in my cities. I found if I took every pop off work and sold all my city improvements, I had a total commerce ratting above my city square production equal to the number of pop heads.
This would just be coincidence. The center tile is always worked and being the city square may or may not have bonus commerce depending on several factors.
EDIT: Entertainers will all produce +1 entertainment... wonders may be tourist attractions

A golden age shows the extra commerce on the tiles so that wouldn't be it. I played around some with a game i have going and couldn't get it to do anything like what you describe unless it's the entertainers adding 1 commerce to the entertainment. A screenshot would be useful since you are describing something unusual.

He is saying that the total commerce was city square commerce plus number of citizens, with all citizens as specialists. Remember, taxmen and scientists originally only produced only 1 gold/beaker. I'm not sure what his point is, though.

Hi, can someone tell me if I can edit save? Because in times with modern armor no aluminium appeared on the map:( and without aluiminium it is boring. Thanks

I have a question about game times (how long people play for). A month or two ago I submitted a couple of (pointless) HOF games, and have since been wondering about how I could improve my times. Anyway comparing my game with those of other people the key difference appears to be the amount of time that I spent playing. For example I completed an 1210AD spaceship victory on a standard map in under 8 hours, but comparable games seem to take other people about 20-30+ hours which is obviously considerably longer. Whilst I've never been big on micro-management in the civ series, aside for people leaving their computers running over night, I'm at a loss to even envisage how a game could take this long.

My question is thus: how do people play for this long? does any off this stuff they do actually make a difference or is it just needless pedanticism?

I mean I could understand it in a conquest game on a higher level, but on a chieftan 'science rush' game?
