By red lined do you mean down to its very last health? Or just the health getting into the red zone?

Until the two swordsman are not eligible to attack.

ainwood: Well , the GOTM staff made it so the goody huts gave workers instead of settlers in the JUne or July GOTM.

Yes, I think so. That makes sense. :)

I'm a bit shy on using the whip in Despotism...can anyone point me to a threat or give me some pointers on how the cost of something equates to # of pop lost?

Try searching for 'rushing'. Can't put 'pop' in, because the search engine needs at least four characters. But 'rush' or 'rushing' should get you some hits.

It's either 20 or 30 shields per person, if I remember correctly. You can see for yourself if you check it in the editor (it's under the "General" tab). :)

Is there a way to get the AI to give into threats. I've got a neighbor who wants 2 lux and a strat for his silk. I don't want to give them that much. I've tried threatening them, they just bulk with tough empty words. They know I could woop there small backwards nation, they must because its impossible to get them to declare war. So why won't they cave to my threat? They are already at war with a lot of other people. (well so am I)

I mean we players have grown used to giving into AI threats or being attacked by the world. What does it take to get the AI to cave in? I could whoop its ass but I just want the silk for now. Too much war weariness.

I tried parking a bunch of troops outside one of its cities, notta. So what does it take?

Tha AI it would seem pays little attention to threats unless it has actually had a major loss in a war. Not sure if this is relevant but it also seems the higher its aggresion the less likely they are to cave in to your demands.

Well I've whooped them in a previous war, only reason i didn't wipe them off the continent is because another nation tried to launch a suprise attack and I had to peace them to deal with the new threats.

Of course, I've had nations the size of 2 cities or so(got to there by me) refuse my threats when I have 50 or 60 cities and 3 or 4 times the army (much more advanced too)

I have only recently learned that war weariness is by nation. I was suffering more WW than I liked, so I made peace with Egypt but started war with Portugal on the same turn. Everyone became happy again and I had no war weariness. Now if I can only get my opponents to line up in rotation.

I´m a user of the spanish civ III, and i have problems when using mods as some of the files the game need are not found. What should i do to solve this problem? I got the original game and the conquest expansion (1.22)

Thanks in advance

What is the key command that gives you the reason for an unhappy citizen ... is there also a way to determine how long a citizen will be in revolt (specific requirement is a newly captured city)

maybe, but i think there's a 50% chance a citizen will stop revolting every trun, assuming there is a military unit there. If you have 5 citizens, and only 1 unit, there is a 50% chance the first will stop and a 0% chance the last4 will stop if you have 3 citizens and 8 units, there is a 50% chance of each citizen stopping.

I could be wrong about the 50% though

Questions:

1 - When you chop forests, does it help to:
a) Build Great Wonders
b) Build Small Wonders

2 - When you disband a unit, does it help to:
a) Build Great Wonders
b) Build Small Wonders

3 - When selling improvements some times it gives shields, other times money. What causes one or the other?

4 - An Artillery\Ship (with Range 2) firing from 2 squares away is as effective as firing from 1 square away?
