I understand... Looks like I'll have to try out Monarchy and Commies sometimes soon
Been playing as Republic in all my games, and war part of them doesn't go well :/

I usually just look at their cities instead.. industrial ages civs will have factory pipes and so onsuperslug said:Does anyone know of a website or reference file where a player could easily see the AI leaders for each age (so that I would know what age the AI is in just by looking at them)?
That works too.Gyathaar said:I usually just look at their cities instead.. industrial ages civs will have factory pipes and so on
Other than researching Republic 100% for yourself, I think you can research ALL the other Ancient Age techs except Philosophy (and of course Republic)....then pop the huts.ts64 said:I still dont get how. I have just reaserched CoL, so I choose something else than philpsophy as next reaserch, like literarture. Then I pop the hut, get philosophy, I am first so I get literature as free tech. How can I change literature to republic, after popping the hut I dont know how to get to the science advisor to change the next tech.
Huts won't give you the tech you are working on. At least that is my understanding.EMan said:Other than researching Republic 100% for yourself, I think you can research ALL the other Ancient Age techs except Philosophy (and of course Republic)....then pop the huts.
Then, even though you are researching it yourself......you can get both Philosophy & Republic for free.![]()
I don't quite get what the use of that is... why don't you just go into diplomacy and see what techs they/you have?superslug said:Does anyone know of a website or reference file where a player could easily see the AI leaders for each age (so that I would know what age the AI is in just by looking at them)?
I deliberately stopped my tech advancement before I got to Education. I want to know when at least two AI have hit the IA so I can take over the Great Library.Lord Parkin said:I don't quite get what the use of that is... why don't you just go into diplomacy and see what techs they/you have?![]()
Or, alternatively, it's very easy to set the starting places correctly yourself on *ANY* world map you download. Simply get into the map editor, open the map, delete the set player start locations that have been set, put in your own ones, and then assign them to whatever civs you choose (by right clicking on the tile).Turner_727 said:
