Depends on the map size and the number of AI. The fewer AI the more likely this is. If you're thinking of a specific world size, you could generate a few maps in the editor and count up the islands to determine a rough average...

Here is a question for a kind hearted soul.

I have read in the FAQ that a number should appear before any trade or other diplomacy agreement to let me know how many more turns I have to go before the agreement is over.

For the life of me, I cannot find this number. It is driving me nuts. I keep inadvertently breaking agreements and the other Civs are laughing at me, I just know it.

I have vanilla Civ 3 with the latest patch, if that makes a difference.

Thanks in advance!

I'd say it depends on what you want -
just expect other civs there if you want to be alone.
Then you get happy if the expectation wasn't fulfilled.:)

More seriously, it is e.g. not totally impossible to start alone on an island with pangaea 60% water map settings (you might get such RNG-results once in a while - just test it in editor like superslug suggested).

I've never had this problem before but now whenever I load a game it automatically zooms out and I get a ultra small and detailed map which hurts my eyes.

Is there any way to solve this?

You should also be able to zoom in and out using the Z key.

Generally, yes. I've seen lots of 80% archipelago maps with 2 on the initial island that I wouldn't count on it though.

If I were to guess a percentage I'd go for being alone on an island about 80% of the time.

Yes go to map on the menu than click zoom in.

Yes, I know how to zoom in but the problem is that the game automatically zooms out once I load a saved game, it's not really a huge problem but it's just annoying.

can anyone tell me how to initiate a propaganda in selected city of another civ?
I know you must go to espionage screen and have a spy in selected civ, but whenever I try to do this, city's bar stays grey and I cannot select a city where I want to initiate a propaganda.
Others civs city (selected for initate a propaganda) is size 6, my nearest city is size 12.

Thanks for any help given.

If you have a spy planted in the civ you're trying to do Propaganda with, and can't do it, it's because that civ is in Democracy. Remember, Democracy is immune from Propaganda.

The easiest way to check the gov't of another civ is to go to your F3 Military Advisor screen, and select the civ you want to know the guv of. It will tell you. "The Army of the Greeks - Democracy" or something equivalent to that.

I had that for some time, too. Then it suddenly was all normal again. Don't know why it first turned weird and then normal again...:(
