You want to know something and can't find it in the FAQ?

Ask here!

Don't bother to read through the entire thread, just ask!

Lots of people are willing to help.

Please DO read throught the relevant section of the FAQ thread (which is also a sticky) before you post though.

(If you really want the previous thread, it's here. ;) )

I'm in a war, and WW is starting to affect my cities (say, three unhappy citizens in my capital). So I make peace with everyone, and the WW ends.

My question is, if I start the war again, does WW pick up where it left off (three unhappy citizens), or does it start building up from scratch.

And, if it picks up from where it left off, how does it decrease? Aside from Un. Sufferage, that is. Over time (1 citizen every 20 turns?)

OK, so on my main page (the one with "New Game", "Load Game" etc.) it
says 1.27f in the bottom left corner. At some point in my previous
games I have definatly had forign workers working at 1/3 the rate of my
workers. I am fairly sure it was between Democracy and replacable parts.
Any ideas what is going on?

Yes. The way rounding is computed internally or something (yes, it IS a bug), with captured workers and democracy (I think it also requires you to be industrious, but I don't remember exactly) causes them to not work at the appropriate speed. This is fixed with the discovery of replaceable parts. It will NOT crash your game nor cause any instability -- it just means your workers are a bit slower than they should be for a specific part of the game, under certain circumstances.

Yep - you have to be in a democracy and also industrious for captured workers not to be working as fast as expected. Rep Parts does indeed fix it.

Worth noting that this was an old bug that was re-intorduced in PTW 1.27. (i.e. it was working as it should be in 1.21) :(

ok, I know this is a total newb question, but hey, thats what this thread is for right?

I lost my manual to Civ3, and I can't remember what the 3 numbers next to your civilizations government type mean. I know the units numbers (1/1/0) mean attack/defense/move. But what do the numbers mean when you don't have a unit selected?

Thanks!

(Tax rate.Science rate.Luxury rate)
10 is the highest, 0 is the lowest. You only have "10" to share between all three.
Hope that helps :)

EDIT: If only we were, in my eyes it is not a bug, just the way the game rounds things...

I have a question about upgrading units. For example i try to upgrade a warrior to midevil infantry, i need iron and money. In one city it won't let me do it, but in the city right next to it, i can upgrade. Both cities have iron in their resource box, neither has iron in the city radius but both are connected to a city that does and to each other. What gives?

One quick question indeed.
This is for the enemy, sometimes I will be told that a wonder has begun its progress, but sometimes I will just simply know the wonder is completed without even knowing when it started, how does this work?

There is a box in preferences that has an option

"Wonder initiation popup" Yes no

Click yes.

DOES ANY ONE KNOW EITHER WHERE I CAN GET AN ANGEL UNIT
BECAUSE I HAVE SEEN IT IN SOME OF THE 32-UNIT EXPANCES DONE BY OTHER BODS BUT I CAN'T SEEM TO FIND AN ANGEL IN THE DOWNLOAD SECTION OTHER THAN A SCI-FI ASSASSIN CALLED ANGEL.

ALTURNITIVELY COULD SOME ONE TELL ME WHAT SOFTWARE YOU USE TO MAKE YOUR UNITS AS I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A GO MY SELF IF THATS OK .

YOUR THANKFULLY MALLEK.:egypt: :WORSHIP::) :king:  :crazyeye:

Not only that. You only get the pop up that it's being built if you know that civ when they start it(& maybe you have to have an embasy with them, not sure).

Otherwise you just find out the hard way..... When they complete it.

Another question in this vein: don't you also have to know the corresponding tech needed to actually build the wonder before the advisor tells you another Civ is building it as well?
