Unfortunately I am not at home so I can't check, but the percentages are a per-turn chance of a foreign citizen becoming yours. Note that this is totally different in concept to resistors and the chance of them being quelled (that is dependant on *both* government types, not just yours).

According to the editor for Conquests:

Anarchy 1%
Despotism 1%
Monarchy 2%
Communism 4%
Republic 2%
Democracy 4%
Facism 2% (assimilate or die . . .)
Feudalism 3%

Hi everyone !

Does anybody know the meaning of this info displayed in any unit window box ?
Like [Despotism 6.4.1]...

Thanks.

It means you spend 60% of your income on taxes, 40% on science, and 10% on entertainment.
You can change those ratios using the sliders in the F1 screen.

Yes... of course...
Thanks. It's so nice getting answers so quickly.

You are definetly my new friends !!!

Whoohoo! :D

But seriously, as you surf your way on these forums, you will find that almost everyone is friendly, patient, and always willing to help. Have fun!

Indeed.
I tried the Civ newsgroup but never got any answer.
Since you are there... can you tell me: where does the status come from ( My conscience is clear) ? Where do you change it ?
What is vB code ?
What does PM mean ?

You can change your status in your User Profile (click the Profile button in the upper right corner of each forum page). But you got to have 30 posts to change it. With 300 posts, you can even change your user picture.

vB code, I don't know what it stands for, but it refers to the code you use for bold, italic and such, and for inserting pictures.

PM stands for Personal Message. You can send messages to other forum users that no one else can read. Personally, I don't like this form of communication. I visit these forums to talk about Civ only, so I can't think of a topic that can't be communicated through the forum.

Thanks.
I'll have a look at the faq's.

Hello there mighty Civ brothers. How does one start a new thread? I wanted to start a new thread for people who have Civ3 Gold edition. There are many scenarios that are in the game and I was wondering if anyone has played any of them and which scenario that they would recomend me trying. I have been playing the game for about 6 months and have just recently started looking at different scenarious but there are so many. HELP!!!

Oh. I might have just found out how to post new thread. Sorry. Do I just click on the new thread button down here on the right? Im going to give it a try.

Yes, that's right, Ruchelli.
Clicking New Thread will open a new thread in the current subforum, which is General Discussions. Coincidentally, that is the proper subforum for your question. Next time, however, you may want to find the right subforum first and then open a new thread there.

If my warrior picks up a relic can he only put it down in Jerusalem? Also, if my relic-holding warrior is in a stack of units and is killed but the others in the stack are not--what happens to the relic--do the attackers get it?

I have seen many screenshots on these pages, and where do I get these smilies which some places appears in the city screen?

How, precisely, does the "culturally linked starting positions" work? My friend and I wanted to play a game against computer opponents a couple of difficulty levels higher than we normally played, so we wanted to start close to each other (early discovery and cheap trading, etc. ;) ). Anyhow, we tried both a pangea and a continents map (w/ culturally linked starting positions on), w/ the civs being Rome/Greece and Rome/Carthage, respectively. In both cases, we ended up on the absolute opposite ends of the earth. Am I missing something here?

IIRC, yes.

Also, if my relic-holding warrior is in a stack of units and is killed but the others in the stack are not--what happens to the relic--do the attackers get it?

The relic should stay with the stack.
