I have asked this before but cannot find the response: what is the PREFERENCE that turns off the 'walking' animation during battles?

@Smellincoffee - Don't know. . .never tried it. But the stealth attack is not a default rule, you have to turn it on in the editor.

@bluenote13 - Ctrl-P (preferences) Animate battles or some such. Sorry, don't have Civ in front of me at this moment.

Or you could scroll down to just underneath the Forum Jump menu and click on Smilies there. It will open up another windows.

Is it possible to change the color associated with a civilization (ex. germans from blue to red and romans from red to blue)?

Is there any easy way of doing it?

Thanks in advance

Yes :)
Go into the editor, Click scenario, select custom rules.
Click rules, Edit, Civilisations.
Choose the desired civ, then make 'em have the desired colour (there are two wee bars down the bottom of the window)

After you've applied all your desired colours to the specific civs, you then save it, and every time you want to play, you have to load that 'scenario'.

It's more trouble than it's worth IMO, and there probably is another way you can do it , but there ye go anyways.

Welcome to CfC btw :) And Eman, that'd be very unlikely ;) ("May Glasgow win ALL their matches! ")

It is.. you have to open the editor and then "change rules" > "civilisations" or something like that... Be aware, that you may mess up the color-based distinction between different opponents, then

hmm.. Gainy bo beat me to this ....and is more detailled as well....

Thank you guys

but is there ainy way of doing it on a saved game?

P.S. I like that player from Rangers named Capucho

I wouldn't think so, IIRC, the editor doesn't let you load .SAV files.

Download Civ3-MultiTool by Gramphos You can find a link to it in the custom & creation thread. It contains a saved game editor.

OK! I'm running c3mt svegame modifier with my saved game, but now... how can I change civilization colors?

I've downlowaded latest version of c3tm (v1.10) but when i try to download a sav file nothing happens. Any hint?

NOTE: If I try to open the first file created by the game then everything is fine, but if I try to open one file saved by myself then... nothing happens

gil_m:

You mean the autosave (..."created by the game...")?
That one isn't compressed, wheras a manually saved file gets compressed. I'm no way used to multi-tool, but maybe that's the reason behind it. Dunno if there's some sort of selector in that program to chose to load either compressed or not compressed files... you may look (ask) into Gramphos' multi-tool thread in the C&C (utilities) forum for clarification...

@ gil_m:
I downloaded C3MT(v1.10) yesterday. I have had no trouble loading a file I saved (.biq) into it. There is, however; a 20-30 second delay (very noticeable) in the loading. It just sits there with blank boxes for the longest time; before it writes in the data. The amount of data seems to be one of the delay determining factors. So, if you are trying to load a late era game; that could be the problem.

early in the game (C3C) i can't get anybody to give me gpt for trades for the life of me; however, at a distinct point, everybody all of a sudden is willing to offer gpt in trades- what enables this? a new tech? a change of govt's? a city improvement (already have lots of harbors before gpt kicks in...)?
