now I can see into "details" tab what I give to my opponents, but there's no way to cancel it ... I'm really in trouble ... is this a bug ?!?

go to the oponet you want to cancel a deal with. down at the very bottom there will be twi wirds: new, and active. click on active. then click on the deal you want to cancel. fin the future you can always renogioate deals after 20 turns by going to preferences and selecting "always re-negoiiate deals"

manub:
Double on the leader to get the trade screen. Look for active at the bottom of that screen. Click on it and click on the deal you want to cancel.

The details tab is on the main screen, when you can see 8 civs? I mean you click on the relavent civ, and go to " I want to propose a deal" or whatever, as you would when makeing a RoP. Then at the bottom of the screen there are 2 words, "New" and "Active". Click on "Active", and all the ongoing deals with the civ are displayed. Click on them to remove them.

Hope this makes more sence, let me know if it does not.

thanks to you all... I've managed it by myself but your detailed help is great. thanks! :D

I am playing PTW and I may get used to III versus II. How can you build court houses and stuff to cut the corruption if you only have one productive shield a turn?

Hurrying was already mentioned, but the biggie is a Foreign Palace, usually hurried with a Great Leader.

I have a question on the city riot pop-up.
Why is it that sometimes it will give you the option of "Give them more entertainment" and othertimes not?

Is this just arbitrary? Or is due to having more city specialist options?

Thanks.

I've wondered that too, Darius.

I have noticed that it doesn't seem to give me the option when an entertainer would make the city starve. Could just be coincidence though...

This is just a guess, I have not tested it out to be for sure so take it with a grain of salt. But what I have noticed is that it will only pop up the message if there is an extra citizen there that can be taken off of its duties without starving the city. If there are none it will not give you the option, it makes you starve the city manually or bump the lux slider.

Edit: Well that's two of us that have noticed the same thing :D

Er, Civ 1 did not have strategic resorces. "Non-organic" strategic resorces do have a chance of disappearing after you road the square. Does not happen that offen though.

What are "organic" resources?

Also, do expert players usually build their capital where the settler appears?

Plant or animal, as opposed to mineral. Horses and Rubber. I'm pretty sure the rest can be exhausted.

Things like coal, iron, aluminum & saltpeter, not horses.

(I think the response should have been inorganic)

Now a questions for the experts out there:

I have a recently acquired city with 2 native & 2 foreign citizens. It's about to complete a settler. What will the composition of the settler be? (0-2, 1-1 or 2-0). I need to found a new city near to the AI capital and if this settler would be both foreigners, then I'll send him to another island where I also need a new city. If the citizens are mine then I will found at the border with this settler (much less flip risk). Since my opponent has nearly double my culture and will claim a critcal resource, this is an important decision to be made. My next available settler is 4 turns away and I'm worried about the AI getting there first.

From what I have seen (not tested) the settler will be foreign, because half or more of the city is foreigners. Can you grow another citizen before popping the settler?

Lately when I have built a settler in a size two city production just stops as it waits for another population point, without asking if I want to abandon the city. Why is this? It just occured to me that it might have to do with whether or not the city is producing excess food, is that it?

AFAIK, that is exactly it. There must be no food surplus to get the "abandon" popup.

Crumbs. Can there be food in the fridge?

I have yet to see the opportunity to build a "foriegn palace". When does this happen?

It's Forbidden Palace (FP) and you get the option when you have half the "allowed" number of cities under the Optimal City Number (OCN ), after which cities start to suffer crippling corruption.

The real one is in Kyoto and magnificant. I think China might have one too.

It's actually called the Forbidden Palace :) Minor typo.
On standard sized maps, you need to have 8 cities before you can build one.

Edit: Cross posted...
