NO!.....Not that I know of!

What is "Thread Jacking"
AFAIK, it's when somebody "Hijacks" the "theme" of the thread and changes it to an "unrelated" discussion! :)

Example: I started "monologuing" about the skills exhibited in Moonsinger's 80K+ Sid-Level HOF game........in THIS thread! :)

Another question.
When i relocate my Palace will it then jump back into the Stone Age? (I.e. without any expansions)

Assuming you meant what Gainy Bo said, then no, it keeps all the graphical expansions that you have built.

What abilities are lost when units with them form an army? If you make an army of three conquistadores, will it have all terrain capability? (In Sengoku, putting your lvl ten shogun in an army with two yambushi monks results in no all terrain as roads even though they all have it). If you army three marines, will it have amphibious assault?

You're supposed to. Maybe it's a bug?

What Turner said. Refer to the bug subforum if you detect any problems.

But for the record, there may be different outcomes in vanilla, PTW or C3C.
For example, I know that pure marine armies do not have the amphibious assault ability in vanilla (that is, such an army did not work in a scenario I created on patch level v1.29). In PTW, though, pure marine armies should be able to launch an attack from a transport.
Alas, I've never tried a marine army in C3C so far...

Why?
Yes, sometimes.

It *IS* considered spam to make multiple short posts in a row, when they could be made in a single post. But sometimes it makes more sense to make consecutive posts (especially if they are separated by a significant period of time ;) ).

Can it be done?
Search has been temporarily turned off by the site administrator. I believe he plans to turn it back on on a trial basis, soon.

Edit: Mistfit: this is a case where multiple consecutive posts are okay. ;)

In the PTW Editor, how do you place cities on the map?
"Select Brush Type" doesn't allow me to place "City" or "Unit." Why?

I believe you have to set the player first. Try hitting the space bar to set the player, then you should be able to do it. But then, I haven't looked at the PTW editor in about six months....

I was going to check it, but I came to the conclusion that Conquests, although it does come with PTW in the box, doesn't install the PTW editor. Weird. But I won't go as far as searching for the PTW disc here... :p

In the conquests editor it works like this:

1. Go to "Map", and then at the bottom of the menu "Set active player". Select the civ you want to place a city for. You can also do this by hitting spacebar.
2. Go to "Map", and "select brush type" "city".

So Turner had a good hunch, I doubt if this is any different in the PTW editor...

Eman, you misunderstand me. I'm talking about Expansions. You know, when a popup says "The People love you and want to expand your Palace", and i was simply wondering if it lost all those. (now, i don't know what effect is has, but it is a nice visual.)

Hey all...another quick question:

If I am half way through researching one technology, and I decide I want to switch to researching another, is the accumulated research kept or discarded? (i.e. is it like switching a city's production, where no shields are lost, or do you lose the beakers you've accumulated?)

Thanks,
DD

I thought you could do this on earlier versions, but I tiried it last night on C3C 1.15 and I lost my accumalated beakers :-(

You can't do it on earlier versions either. Stored beakers don't exist while switching research. Keep this in mind when you're building Theory of Evolution.

Could anybody please direct me to newbie threads. I would like basic explanations about economy, growth, military tactics etc. I already read many articles in the War academy section but many were a little bit advanced for me.

I have been playing Civ 2 a lot and then started Civ 3 ages ago, then sold the computer and now I am up and running again so this time I want to learn the game properly!

Thanks!
