Quick question: Blight hits twice - bug or feature?

Then thanks for the reply. Good to know its a feature. Im fine with that.

Blight alone seems to weak. but Blight + Pestilence (even if repeatable) seems just allright and its harder to plan than the fixed event (especially with living world which would explain why it hit so often.). A quite significant impact to the game, but not a micromanagement annoyance like the old blight and harder to circumvent / get an advantage over AI with the way its implemented now.

If at a later Stage the "FFH2-opedia" :D is done it should perhaps be noted in there, that pestilence works simmilar to blight to avoid or help diminish confusion. But that has time. Until then im sure this thread will give enough of an answer.

A specialist focused society would work well, even under blight, I suppose. Usually you are producing a lot of food in this scenario which should lead to only a mild blight, I think. Even if you aren't capable of supporting any specialists for a while your cities will stay at bigger sizes. This should help your money bag immensly, because you will be able to keep working all the plots around your cities and bigger cities means more units free of support.

Never tried this pproach, but it might work.

it'll help against pestilence, but SE's get hit the hardest during blights or atleast, that's how it used to be. I've never even seen the blight in 0.31, so i'm not sure about this, but the disappearing of food resources and terrain shiftings made a serious impact.
