Quick Question

How many times have any of you had resources pop from a plain or desert mine.I thought it was wierd the other night I had Silver and Iron pop in the same city right next to each other within about 5 turns of one another.I had only built the mines roughy 20 turns before that.Never seen it before but have seen posts about it being rare.Does do a check every turn or once in awhile?

Btw I bought plain ole Civ4 back in early october and have been watching posts here and there whenever I can.

The strangest one I've ever seen was gems popping out of a mine in a tundra city! Apparently the normal restrictions for where mined stuff can appear doesn't apply when they appear randomly.

My best one was popping aluminum 2 turns before I would have gone to war over it. There's no restriction, it's a small chance for every worked mine to pop a mined resource. The check is done every turn.
