Quick Questions / Quick Answers

Thanks for the quick response! Hopefully my last question; are there any settings that you recommend? Two suggestions that I saw being tossed around were to disable all events as well as disabling barbarians altogether. Sadly those did nothing to prevent desyncs for me. Not entirely sure if it's excessive to have a +1 minute loading screen every ~5 turns either, or abnormal.
Thats definetly excessive if you are not talking about the very end of the game on huge map. Maybe you should check that you both have exactly the same modpack (once we have this problem, turned out that my friend forgot to replace previous modpack with the new one). We usualy have first loading screen around turn150. But they start to happen more often over time. In the very end of the game (turn300) we have desync maybe every 7-10 turns and every turn take ~2 minutes (huge map, 18 AIs). But i think it cannot be fixed, we both have very good PCs, thats just how the game works.

The weird thing is that this was happening in the classical (first) era. Small world, us 2 players, vs two teams of 4 AI civs, so 2v2v2. Every time we had one of those desyncs, my friend's patience was cracking lol. And we did in fact have the same mod pack, unless my friend was being lazy and lied to me about getting the new one I sent him. It's also possible that it was just my bad luck and I got a really buggy version (this was +4 months ago). At the moment I'm just trying to make sure that something like that never happens again for whoever I decide to play this with. Maybe I'm just worrying too much

Just try it. There was A LOT of changes. Also check if you have the latest version of civ5 and no other mods, just clean Vox Populi

I've noticed that the warmonger civs are now suddenly denouncing other civs for no reason (they're not even their direct neighbour). Why is this happening?

Funny that they denounce them yet declare war on ME within the first 50 turns

They're looking for co op buddies. If two civs denounce someone, they make an angry war baby.

Very often if my one of my neighbors denounced someone that I don't have a border with I will denounce them as well. Its a good way to make friends

That makes sense. I had one game where Shaka denounced Elizabeth. Me, being scared of Shaka, decided to also denounce her (cause I know she's a *****). I soon made friends with Shaka afterwards!

Good feature actually.

Is it ever actually worth giving civs money or resources for free if they ask for it? Playing as Carthage and because I have more money, they're all bugging me

Especially Germany and Ethiopa , I know for a fact that we're gonna end up falling out eventually because 'hurrdurr your behaviour angers them'

If you have lots of money, it's better to give it someone, preferably with a lot of positive modifiers, because they will be stolen anyway. But honestly, it's better to spend them on investments (if you have banks) or diplomats.
Resources are a bit different case, you can give a lux whenever unless in the every early stage when 2-5 gpt makes make a big difference.

Good point. I do find myself just keeping money in the treasury without spending it on anything. Then I get annoyed when "an undentified spy stole 10k gold"

Hello! I have a silly question, playing on the latest version:
Does a pantheon spread to conquered cities? I've never really noticed before. I get it in new cities, I won't get it in a conquered city, within 5-6 tiles and with a road, even after 50-60 turns.

Oh, and I'd like to add a big thank you for the VP mod, it's made Civ so much better :)

Pantheons don't spread like that, no. Especially not if you have a religion already.

@Gazebo - is it intended for Piety 1st policy not to give discounts in zealotry (and in Glory of God I think)? If so - maybe it should be included in policy text?

I just started a new game as Shoshone. My pathfinder picked the first goody hut and there is no option that gives Faith. Is it supposed to be that way? All the other options seem to be there (Culture gift, Money gift, Land gift, Unit upgrade etc.).

Pretty sure no one can get faith from ruins until turn 20 (Standard speed).
