You'll have to ask all the civs you're willing to piss off to quit spying on you. It works with the ones that already hate you if you're militarily relevant.Question about spies and frequency of spy activities.
I’m playing Tradition and I’m a leader. My capitol is the biggest city. I have a Level 3 spy in there and all buildings that help counter-act other spies (until Atomic). And still every 2-3 turns (literally) something happes (stolen tech, money, gpp, etc.) I suppose that probably all civs have their spies in my capitol, but still it is annoying. I kill a spy once in a while, but rather very rarely compared to their activities.
Question is: is it normal? Should I get used to this situation? Are there any other ways to prevent enemy spies?
Oh, yes, totaly forgot about that. I usually forgive them to improve the relation a bit, but they hate me so much, that it probably doesn’t matter. Thanks! You'll have to ask all the civs you're willing to piss off to quit spying on you. It works with the ones that already hate you if you're militarily relevant.
Did you fulfill a city-state quest?During late-game war almost all my units suddenly received 24 XP out of the blue. I conquered a city, but there was nothing special in it. What gives?
Can't say, I was focused on the war and keeping my hapiness positive. Funny thing, few turns later it happened again... Is there a quest from CS that gives so much XP?Did you fulfill a city-state quest?
Yes. An irrational militaristic CS can gives a LOT of XP for capturing a targeted city. Can't say, I was focused on the war and keeping my hapiness positive. Funny thing, few turns later it happened again... Is there a quest from CS that gives so much XP?
If you miss out on the wonder all you get is spearmen, chopping, and maybe some iron. Meanwhile, Military Theory gets the all powerful horsemen AND barracks. Bronze Working looks fine to me.Could someone explain why Bronze Working is the only tech in Ancient era 2nd column that has only 1 prerequisite tech (i.e. Mining)? All other techs in 2nd column have 2 prereqs, and BW only 1... It clearly favors warmongers, and VP is all about balance.
Hey, it's not only xp. CS usually gives you extra yields, gold, hammers, for fulfilling the quests, in addition to the influence. It's a bit random how much of what yield they will give, though. Read descriptions whenever you see a quest.@balinte @Moi Magnus Thx guysI remember that there was a quest for city capture, if you mention it, but i thought that CS quests can give Influance only. Good to know such case exists, those xp were massive.
Unlike in vanilla, I don't think you actually get a relations bonus for forgiving them (though you avoid the relations penalty for asking them to stop).Oh, yes, totaly forgot about that. I usually forgive them to improve the relation a bit, but they hate me so much, that it probably doesn’t matter. Thanks!
Yeah, you're not alone. (See screenshot.)1. Why do I get 'Territorial disputes' with civs on another continent? I've just met England and Aztects for the 1st time, we've exchanged embassies, and bam - negative modifier.
I'm not sure whether any negative modifiers fade away, other than warmongering and the ones based on territorial disputes.2. 'You stole their land' doesn't fade away, like never. Is it ok?
For the war declaration, it could have been the result of bribery. I believe if someone was bribed, the button to make peace won't even appear for a set number of turns when you go to the diplomacy screen with them.3. Isabella has just denounced me and declared the war out of the blue. She is on another continent, only modifiers are 'Divergent policies (-5)' and 'No contested borders (+6)'. Is she crazy in VP?
Generally, once you get into denounce-war-denounce-war-.. cycle, I find it difficult to break it. Any advice?
Ok... and nobody finds it weird or consider an error to be fixed?Yeah, you're not alone. (See screenshot.)
I think, when you start a war, it has to last some minimum turns (10?), no matter how you started it?For the war declaration, it could have been the result of bribery. How do Natural Wonders work? I have settled near Mt. Kalash (I think it is), but I do not have the option to work the tile. A 6 Faith Icon appears instead of a work icon. I thought maybe the tile gets worked automatically, which would be a great idea, especially for the ones that do not have such great yields in the early game, however, the faith is not being added to my total anywhere.
