Quick Questions / Quick Answers

Yeah it's a bug. @SpankmyMetroid just insert the following lines in "MODS\(2) Community Balance Overhaul\Balance Changes\Text\en_US\UIText.xml" after line 472:
Code:
        <!-- Text for Damaged Unit -->
        <Row Tag="TXT_KEY_UNITCOMBAT_DAMAGE_MODIFIER">
            <Text>Damaged Unit Modifier</Text>
        </Row>
Then delete cache and start the game and it should get rid of the problem.

How best to secure a good pantheon on high (immortal) difficulties? I usually hardbuild a monument and then invest in a shrine and consistently get 7th or 8th pick out of 12, and I think it's actually impossible to get another city out with a shrine before you get a pantheon from the first. Is it ever worth building the shrine first or do I just accept an underwhelming pantheon on high difficulties?

I'm a big fan of monument first, and I accept that sometimes I don't get my ideal pantheon.

Stonehenge is an option, or play a civ with bonus faith.

Imo there are so many good and niche pantheons (and good religious beliefs overall) that it really doesn't matter if you get it super early on unless it is key to your strategy. I personally always go Monument->Shrine unless something is really important or I'm playing a civ that has a reason to do something else. Even if you miss a bunch of pantheons, chances are you're mostly missing a lot of resource pantheons and will have something decent to work with afterwards.

I keep missing that moment when Caravansarys go from +1 gold to +4 gold in flat income. Is it a building I build in a city that augments Caravansary's yield or a technology?

Is it normal that a Nau can get the Naval Siege and Vanguard promotions? Those affect ranged combat strength.

Banks!

How do you start an AI-only game? I know you can use the Firetuner to autoplay, but that requires you entering the game as a player first (before deleting yourself from the game) and that screws with the map generation a bit.

Can someone explain how the current iteration of happiness works? It makes no sense to me, and I can't see why this has benefits over the old 100% system.

50% is the new normal; if you're above it then good for you, though I don't think you actually get any bonus yields from that, it's just "buffer" so you don't dip below 50% when something increases your Unhappiness. Below 50% you get the usual punishment in 3 stages as before.
All cities have local Happiness but there is also Empire Happiness; the former needs to be dealt with as before (meeting the needs of the citizens) while the latter will basically act to cancel out any Unhappiness that isn't cancelled out locally; I think it starts with the capital and then "overflows" to the other cities if there is more Empire Happiness than the capital needs for equalization. Oh and War Weariness now seems to take effect locally somehow...though it doesn't seem to make much of a difference in comparison to before.

I have a question of my own: When making a Pledge of Protection to a CS it says that I "will earn 15% Influence from quests completed for this CS"...what does that mean? I made a PoP 2 turns before fulfilling a quest but got the same amount of Influence as a reward as was advertised before I made the PoP. Is this a bug or what is the 15% supposed to refer to?

Since recently I start seeing duplicated and triplicated map names in Set Up Game window. Why is it? I only see one corresponding map file in Assets\Maps folder.

What is the formula for pioneer's production cost? In my game they cost more than a colonist. Not sure if it is intended.

Hi! Is there a way to change faith bonuses that AI receives (in order to make the religion more achievable) while maintaining all other difficulty settings of a given difficulty level?

But then you miss out on grabbing a religion?

There are three places where maps can be found:
1. In the game folder, under ASSETS/MAPS or ASSETS/DLC/... (You shouldn't touch this)
2. In your user game folder, under MAPS
3. In your user game folder, under MODS. Then look for a mod that adds a map. CP adds the Communitas map script inside this mod.

I had a look and discovered that the mess is caused by these three folders.

I wonder if any of those are redundant or whether they offer different versions of the same mapscript.

Why do we lost influence with CS when we trespass? Does this play any role or just something carried over from vanilla?
