Could someone explain me where do those 3 culture from Terrain on my city tile come from?

I understand that the 3 culture from buildings are the Palace and the Monument (1+2). What about the terrain that gives 3 culture on the city tile? How?

What are the conditions for starting an early city-state war? Is there a dependency on units in the player's army?
Dozens of attempts on the same map since turn 8: Always unlock spearman tech on turn 21. CSs always upgraded their armies on turn 34 or 35 and got spearmen

1) if I don't have a single spearman, then I never got a city-state war by playing up to 45-50 moves. Didn't continue further.
2) if I have 2 spearmen, then the war always starts on turn 35.
3) if I have 1 spearman, then the war is not always.

Is it necessary to have second-level units (spearmen, archers)? Or does it depend on something else?

Is it possible to change background music? Can I play Morocco while listening to Incan theme instead of Moroccan for example? Can the game play peace theme while I am currently at war?

Pretty sure these are the yields from taking Tradition. Playing a 43 civ game and only the Tradition civs have culture yields on cities.

How do y'all not get overwhelmed by everything that needs to be done?

I always feel overwhelmed once I have a few cities that are all doing different things, like I can't keep track of what I am doing in one city over another. Any plan I have seems to fade out amongst the static of "all the things to do this turn". Usually by the medieval era my brain starts to hurt from all the things to build, units to move, updates to keep follow, etc. It kills my enjoyment, and I often find myself starting a new game by turn 150-200 because everything is cleaner in the early game. I would love to actually finish a game, but I can't seem to navigate the information presented to me well enough.

Is there a way to export a 3.0.4 initializing save and import it in 3.2.2? Maybe some kind of map editor?

There are only units on the map, no cities or barbarian camps, no improvments.

I like the starting position, the color scheme of the landscape, the general location of resources, opponents, and I don’t want to go through dozens of initial generations.
Go to the ingame menu > Save Game > Save Map. Then select that map again in Advanced Settings for the new game. Units and starting position won't be saved, but the map will be.

You can turn on autoproduction in cities (gear icon). L. Vern has a Squads modmod for moving groups of units.

I think you play on a bigger map or longer setting that you are not yet comfortable with. I suggest to play on smaller setup than your current one now. I do felt overwhelmed by the way, by many things that need to be done and sometimes because I failed to get my objective on time. I don't think you need to keep track on everything all the time, you can focus on one thing and one thing only for some turn. You are not expected to tackle all of the information correctly. You are also allowed to forgot to do particular things, it is a heavy-information game anyway. I sometimes just focusing one city to do certain things while other city to be flexible on helping my empire grow. That means I put gold in that newly-conquered city for some of the crucial buildings. That means I rename one particular city to name that reminds me to handle its unhappiness. That means I put three knights in queue because these three cities is fast enough on producing unit and then forget about it. I make mental notes and sometimes also actual written notes. Don't get discouraged if you forgot to send that one diplomat to that one city-state. Don't get discouraged if you forgot to invest in that wonder which makes it fail to be completed and so got sniped by another civ. You can organize what you need to do in civ by activity group. For example in mid game this is what I usually check in order: what do I want to do with my faith, what do I want to do in diplomacy screen, what is the current city-state quests, what do I want to do with the east army, west army etc., how many emissary should I buy this turn, which building to build in my cities, do I need to focus on unhappiness, units or completing quests. Don't have too high of expectation or wanting things in short time because that's not what kind of game Civ 5 is :)

I find that a Small map with 10 Civs is the best balance between stuff happening, but not too much stuff happening.

A few notes:

  • Automate your workers: Yes its not as efficient but a lot less taxing on the brain.
  • Setup a build queue. It might help if you just focus on a city, think about what you want, and then put like 4 buildings in the queue. That way your not coming back as often.

Is there a forum post or website that is relatively up-to-date that has various tips & tricks (preferably general, but also for specific civs) for Vox Populi? I want to improve my play, and while I know that has a lot to do with understanding in-game mechanics (I'm reading), there are also a lot of small efficiency things I'm sure I'm missing. I'm looking more for the small efficiency things that someone inexperienced would most likely miss, whereas for expert players it would be second nature.

How is amount of production for great engineers calculated? I seem to get wildly different numbers some games and I have no clue why.

Here. A little outdated but still useful to me, take a look if it serves you.

Any ideas what is the additional food from "Process"? Because of it I managed to have 1 citizen every turn since Berlin got 50 citizens and I don't know if I snowballed this hard and the numbers went off or something has bugged there.

How long does the penalty for declaring on a friend last (standard speed)? It starts at -150 if I remember correctly.
