Quick Questions / Quick Answers

Thank you for your answers. The mod doesn't work properly for me, don't no why. Maybe anyone here who knows where it is coded?

How can I remove "Corporations" from the tech tree - for Player and AI? It seems that there used to be a way using an SQL-query. Or how to remove "Corporations" from the game altogether, but leave monopolies?

how do you play the 43 civs version? I believe there is no special map for it. I set up a huge map and even with that there was no room for 2nd city and everybody started to fight each other immediately. Did I missed something?

Do i have to conquer civ"s capital for domination victory or the vassalage is enough?
You have to control the capitol, you can do it or by conquering capitol or by controling it trought vassalage.
In other words, which comes faster is enough. Usually, if capitol is in some incovenient location, vassalage is just easier.

Where in the game files is the mod option to change the vassalage cooldown? Been searching for 30 mins and can’t find the file to edit.

I have 100 warscore and the game is saying I need to wait 35 turns to vassal him again even tho he declared on me 3 turns after being liberated and got destroyed.

Hi all, I'm getting a CTD on turn 170 (standard / large) and I can't figure out what's going on.

I tried looking at the log files, but can't make heads or tails of them. I also tried opening the minidmp file, but can't seem to read it with anything (i tried downloading visual studio and couldn't get it to work).

How / where can I get some help? It's not a bug, seems to be a technical issue. I end my turn, AI takes turn (offers open borders), CS take turn, Barbs take turn, and when it's my turn again it seems...CRASH.

I'm using the 4.9.1 Modpacks with 4UC and a few other mods (coloured icons, advanced setup, and a few more, no extra civs)

Cheers

What does this mean?

"A revolution against their ally is occurring!"?

It is similar to the "horde" quest.
  • Regularly, barbarian units will spawn in the CS territory.
  • It is a good time to come with units, as killing any barbarian in or next to a CS' territory will awards you 15 influence.
  • At the end of the quest, if any barbarian are still within CS' territory, their allies will take a heavy influence hit (might be reset to 0 or resting point, i don't know the details)

On the Civilopedia it says that units standing on a marsh tile have a "significant PENALTY when attacked", but it also says that it gives +5% combat bonus. Do they give a penalty at all?

Hi, question on FREE buildings. I adopted the order and chose the tenet with FREE factories. They appeared in the first 5 cities in order of founding. The thing is that some of these cities already had a factory or were building one. Bug or feature? I understand that it is nevertheless a bonus not to have the cost of coal, but shouldn't the FREE buildings appear in cities that don't have it or aren't currently building it?

Not 100% sure but I think "free" counts towards maintenance costs, too. So maybe they are free in those five citys now?

I think they are free in terms of maintenance costs. Ok, let me rephrase it. In my understanding FREE buliding means two bonuses:
1. FREE maintenance - this is ok
2. You don't have to build it, it just appears, so no production cost. This is my question.
If it appears in city that has already built it, you get bonus 1, but you don't get bonus 2. The only plus I can think of is the management of coal as a limited resource. Someone can count on a factory becoming free to use coal somewhere else. But when it's about 5 free Military Academies it would be only Bonus 1 (i didn't try it, but probably the same logic)

The cost in hammers is reimbursed. The turn the factory is given you should had a production boost in the city for the same amount of hammers of the factory cost

NICE! Didn't know that. Thanks for clarifying :).

@hawat
Yeah, I got what you mean. Just wanted to provide a silver lining. It can get confusing at times, I feel you.

Also I think the building's reimbursement scale with game speed, in addition to its base cost scaling with game speed.
Meaning a building that cost 200 in standard (and being reimbursed 200) cost 300 in epic, and is being reimbursed 450.

Anyone else noticing something like that ?

I havent notice but I will try to be be attentive in case it happens. Thanks for pointing it out

Btw, do you know if marsh tiles give a combat penalty? I thought it did in the past but now i dont see anything in the combat tooltip, so i dont know if Im making that up.

I think it only gives a combat penalty in base game, and it has been changed to a defense bonus instead in VP. Take it with a grain of salt.
