Quick Questions , Quick Answers

hey, how I can build supply ship for lunar cities? can't find them anywhere. half of nanotech era now, I already played several games in space maps and supply ships were always becoming acceessible in similar time like construction ships or settlers, but I don't remember when exactly
Supply ships were removed to simplify game, as some players found them confusing, and AI would be confused by them.
Those buildings, that formerly could be built with supply ships are now buildable for cheap on Moon.

Similarly all buildings buildable by space rewards are now buildable directly too.
Space mission units stayed, since they can bring raw commerce too.

I see, thanks, actually more comfortable without having to track which planet was already explored and which was not:)
another question, I think that in the past it was possible to build farms on hills, but in my current game it is not - was it changed, or I remember wrong or missing something? I don't know what to make on hills to increase food output, I'm making suburbs there most often

Maybe it must have valid resource for farm?
Try placing food resource with great farmer

I have some quick questions about protecting my borders. I find if I just defend my cities then fast units will sneak deep into my territory pillaging when they declare war. Early game I can use some easily placed units and mountains to secure my borders but once mountaineering becomes useful my borders get a ton of gaps all of a sudden. I've been thinking of using Zones of Control and making forts to control the space but I've heard that it causes lots of slowdown. I'd love some tips on how to keep my borders secure and keep those pesty horses and rouges out.

I usually create numerous patrol squads that often have very fast/strong units that are positioned about so they can react to those kinds of threats. It's not easy. Sometimes I build walls of small almost impenetrable cross defended stacks of defenders along the really difficult borders. Joseph's seen that method in use ;)

Man that seems ages ago!

Ah right! I haven't messed around with the patrol automation much. I guess I do have to just man the borders with stacks of units. The Zone of Control option is still not recommended right?

Can I see save out of curiosity?

I don't usually automate patrols but I do create patroling stacks I use to patrol with. You can use ZOC if you wish - it just creates a slower end turn that's noticeable.

:) sure, found it finally - your path posted in other topic helped, although seems like file is not uploading on forums when I try, hope I figure it out. I entered transhuman era today and wondering if it's possible to change complex traits while in game, I wish I had taken aerial instead of naturalist in early game

edit: looks should be okay, hope it will work for you
edit2: settings on my computer are 95% research and nightmare difficulty

Seems like you forgot to colonize Mars and Venus in Nanotech :D
Also you should be in Industrial era according to calendar and % of turn passed.

oh yes, I could have researched planetary colonisation earlier:D went first to transhuman lifestyle and researching missing nano techs now, curious if I made any other mistakes in gameplay:D many of my cities are missing important buildings such as these (attachment) and it's quite hard to figure out queues in each city separately, it would be nice if attempting to add unconstructable building to queue, was adding all prerequisite buildings:)

I would put 5 cheapest buildings if I had no particular idea of building things.
Also no need for beelining, if you are ahead AI - just go to next column after getting all techs in previous column.
Also pay attention to tooltips, as those mention if building is needed to build other buildings.
Not only AND prereqs are now listed, but OR prereqs and Empire And prereqs too (May be needed to build....).
I don't have idea as to how add GOM type requirement to display in tooltip and pedia list.

By the way I noticed, that you put cities extremely densely.
You could but them 5 tiles apart safely.

thanks for advices:) I mean it's like... (my thought process below)

"I want to construct gestation chamber, I need genotype studio...okay, I remember which icon it is, but for it, I need phenotype studio...where it is? <searching for 5 minutes> okay here it is, but tooltip shows I need bioinformatics lab and tissue engineering lab <at this point switching to sort by name instead of by cost> finally finding tissue engineering lab, but now if I want to build it in all my cities, and I press alt, it will choose capital queue, where tissue engineering lab is already constructed, so it does not appear... so that I press shift to remove capital from selection, after repeating 10 times I finally reach city which does not have tissue engineering lab, but now if I add it to queue, it will only work for several cities - these that have all prerequisities for tissue engineering lab... maybe I just let auto governor figure it out and I press next turn:D"

not sure if you understand what I'm writing about, I tried to present complexity of figuring out queues for every city:) I remember earlier version of mod with working function "show build list screen", was a bit easier. anyway I still think it's best mod in civ4 and I learned so much about history, astronomy, sci-fi concept from here:D

not sure if my strategy is good, but I was building cities densily in earlier eras, to maximize number of trade routes, buildings and specialists in empire, maybe playing tall could lead to faster progression if cities could grow faster working on more farm tiles

No, you don't aim for end building directly.
You should build buildings, that allow building other buildings starting from cheapest ones.
Or ones, that produce resources.
A requires B, requires C and D.
First you pick C, D and some others, then you pick B and others, and finally A and others.
Going directly after latest building would be simply too annoying.

thanks, I tried this approach and it's more efficient, two questions then:)

1. is there any chart of all buildings requirements chains that exist in mod, maybe showing icons too?
2. let's say I locate city with particular building not constructed, example law school, what would be efficient way to construct it in every city that does not have it yet? if I press alt then leading selection is capital, which has most of buildings already constructed, so I can't add law school or most of buildings to queues from there. if this selection could be reverted (so that queue that is shown is from the newest city, not the oldest), adding something globally to queue would be much easier

I have a question according to the cultures. In the past mods i was always able to conquer a foreign city and get european culture, african, north americans and so onthat i could build every culture before the A.I. . Did it changed ? Am I now only able to play asian culture and can not conquer any new cultures ? I could build ambushers and thiefs since i entered the acient era. So this problem is luckily fixed.

Yeah it was changed some time ago - you have to build local cultures now.
Conquer cities with other continental cultures, to get other types, building settler will give it continental cultures, that you will get when you settle city.
You also can copy continental cultures to other cities by building Migrant units.

Is there any way to add animated portraits in static portrait locations like the CoM Megapack?
