The Ascension Gate is purely intended to grant you the Scientific Victory when you build it. If you have Mastery victory enabled then it won't do that, and it'll eat 30 population from all of your cities for nothing.
I'm pretty sure that by this time your cities would grow to sizes like 500, so mere 30 is nothing in comparison.

Why does Spain have culture on that tile? All of their cities are pretty much on the other side of the continent. The wooden palisade there was built by Australia before I took it off them, so I assume that doesn't have anything to do with it. That is Spain's Hunter standing on the same tile as my unit but I don't see how that would affect anything.

I assume spain took the palisade with a unit leaving it in their ownership until someone steals it from them or destroys it

That makes sense. I thought you had to build the palisade to get the culture, didn't think about the possibility of capturing it. I probably should've sent a unit over there

There's a game option that enables war actions to infuse culture into tiles.
So, you can get your culture spread half-a-world away from any of your cities, if you fight a serious war there.
But it's an option that can be ON or OFF, lol.

When you have Resource Depletion on, is there a way to tell how much of a resource is left without world builder/debug mode, or does it just randomly disappear at some point? I was recently reminded by a random event that my entire civilization is heavily reliant on a single stone quarry, and I don't want it to disappear on me before I have the opportunity to take some other sucker's stone off him.

Is there an off-topic thread for C2C? I want to share an analysis of a YouTube video on a hypothetical scenario of the world invading America that I typed up. I shared it on social media, but I wish to share it with the C2C community.

There are multiple offtopic channels on the C2C Discord server.

Just started playing. Is it correct I need some sort of map pack to do play in space?

It's completely random event related rather than any kind of volume count related matter as it would be in RL.

I have never built one and used it, Is there a guide? I tend to make my build decisions one at a time

I'm asking what's your problem?
Are you trying to build a queue pattern to apply to every city? If so, I also don't know how to do them efficiently, lol.
Or are you simply somehow having trouble with multi-building? That'd be quite strange (it's really easy), so can you elaborate?

yes I just want to know if I could line up say 5 buildings in every city that I conquer or found. I am not sure how much I would want to use a que but I have never used one before. Please, take your time.
