Aren't almost all the Viking RFC stories discontinued? I hope that doesn't happen here. As my sig says, I love RFC. Good story!

In 1805, the Viking Empire was on its knees. Despite taking Paris and Bordeaux, they were simply outnumbered. Frustrated with wars against France and Spain, they simply collapsed. Now, the Vikings only ruled Nidaros, the small capital city. The aging King Leif III died, unsuccessful in his mission. The new king was the 24 year old King Olaf VI, known commonly as the Beardless, Religious King. King Olaf went for a walk, still wondering at how to reclaim the lands once his fathers. But not in the traditional Viking way. He prayed every day in the Nidaros Temple, asking God to help him. But, there was no sign. He prayed to everyone, the Buddhists, the Taoists, the Confucianists, and even the Islamic.
He was walking outside Oslo when his life changed. He saw a small, ancient runic tablet. After brushing off the letters it said:
Praye to Thor and ye shall be savd/ Praye to Thor and ye empir shall rais up to meet ye/ Praye to Thor whene al ist lost, and ye shalle be savd.
He had tried everything else. Why not?
He got on his knees in the hills mud, and prayed. He prayed for nights and days, silent and kneeling. And then, after 7 months without food, he went to Nidaros. He asked all who had once believed in the powerful deities to RAISE up; to fight the oppressors who had taken your land; and to fight the cowardly French and the Spanish dogs!
The response was immense. Peasants all over the once-Viking Empire who still clung to their beliefs rose up against their overlords. The witchdoctors now re-emerged; making grenades. And the Peasants attacked. They charged the cities, quickly taking almost every Viking city. And the Vikings were now pagans.
The New Viking Empire had just been born.
