Tweak the bonuses, ect.

I think with all of the blunders we've made we're qualified as experts now!
 
Before I load it, does the new XML file get rid of the crash-when-you-quit bug? I really can't be ****ed to restart my computer again.

If I see "would you like to shut down?" once more I think I'll do something moderately interesting... :twitch:
 
I didn't get one crash when you quit bug today. I can't explain it.

Let me know if you guys fair the same.
 
are you guys geting the large craters, etc. on your map when you start a game.(using the most recent map script)? The reason I ask is because dsquared's most recent screen shots do not have then. Either he is not using the most recent mapscript or does not have the right art files in the right place(or both).
 
Honestly, I don't think I've seen a big crater.

I just realized that I didn't edit the XMLs like dsquared wanted when he sent his pink art fix either. :( I simply didn't do anything with it for some reason. If anyone does have that XML I'd be thrilled to get it so I don't have to fix it.
 
I have the xml you want but I will not be abe to send it for another 3 or 4 hours.

If you can post a screen shot showing all the terrain type you do get and do not cut out the minimap out of the corner.

Edit: the weird thing about the terrain problem is that as far as I can see all of you guys are getting it but when I put the mod on my brother's computer it worked fine.
 
Bugger, that's another thing I just thought of that needs editing...the terrain types. Some of them give food,which is a no no! Also, oasis needs to either be removed or neutered. :)

Could the oasis picture be altered to look lunar?

Hopefully JBG can post a screenie since I simply can't for an unknown reason.

did you u update your files with the last files I posted on file gone(link in you pm. I posted them yesterday)
If so you should not be getting any terrain features at all.(including oasis)

Edit: Some of the files I posted there have been changed recently.
also check post 720 and 729.
Will post a complete updated working version of the mod later today.
 
@matthewv: I was going to mention the lack of large craters. :hmm:

A large number of resources/things still show up as magenta. The dust seas, palladium and water ice resource, plus for some resources, although the actual graphic shows up fine, the tile base is magenta.

Wierd.

I'll post a screenie soon. I'll post an art fix for the Lunar Federation and Orbital Limited too. For some reason those civs' flags are magenta too...


btw, Woodelf, your civics buttons are good but some of them are rather odd. we might have to look for some more... ah... apt ones.

While I'm at it I'll tweak the values for civics, too - give them some placeholder bonuses and disadvantages... :hammer:

Same here with the magenta.

:lol: about the civic buttons. They are stolen from FfH and I simply tried to make them all different. That was about a month ago before I even knew how to make a button. :)

We still need to decide if they are all available at the start, as they are now, or if they are unlocked by tech.

I did, but I also incorrectly placed some of dsquared's new files into their old folders. :(

I'll wait for your XML file and then put his files into 1 folder like he suggested.

If you check mine and dsqaured's posts from last night(my time) you should be able to figure out how to fix this.
 
Okay, here's the flag fix.

As for screenies, watch this thread...

Woodelf, if we have the civics all available at the beginning we need to ensure some means of preventing everyone from choosing the best ones and sticking with them. I'd rather have them unlocked with technologies, personally.

DSquared, when you post, can you tell us what to do re: the magenta resources? When I unloaded your resources art file I had to pick my way through them putting them in folders according to the XML, and I have no idea where to put the ones that aren't tied to a particular resourse. Help from the master might help us conquer the magenta...
 
I have six *.dds files I don't know what to do with. They are:
sugarshadow.dds
smoke.dds
rock_shadowplane.dds
resourcedirt.dds
normal_marble.dds
environment_light.dds

Which folders do I put these into? ?
 
JBG - That's why I'm waiting for matthewv to get home and send that XML file. I saw those files and did nothing with them!

Also, are you going crash free at restart?
 
Can evryone made sure that you post all your updated files today so that I can post an official working version tonight?
 
All my latest files have been posted on the past couple of pages.

I'll post a screenie once I have the resources sorted out. What do I do with those six resources? anyone..?
