Why is it I always feel sick to my stomach and feel like throwing up all the time?

I just saw President Bush end a meeting with the media after ending his last Cabinet meeting of the year by saying "Happy Holidays!"

Happy Holidays!

The President is betraying our values during this most critical time of the year! How dare he!

I demand an apology!

Who decided to make life so complicated!?

Not to mention that I'd be far too shy to try to contact this person to see if she is indeed my aunt and my father's half sister and what happened to his father after his mother tossed him out.

And then, if I wanted to find out more about my father's mother's side of the family, I'd have to call my estranged grandmother to see if she knows any names I could work with.

I had the mindset of starting the family tree fresh once upon a time....

Today I discovered that the girl I like does not like me back and finds me slightly annoying.

@Yankee: Wait... what? :confused:

My girlfriend went to expand her family tree by looking up a bunch of people on a site, probably ancestry.com, then got curious about mine, since I don't know very much, especially of the people that immigrated to the US.

But, we found someone that may be my paternal grandfather's daughter, with a family of her own. This some 13 years or so after my father was already born and his mother got rid of his father for God knows what reason.

Now, I don't know if it's all 100% true, but it's still a shock to the system.

But on the other hand, if true, my father's maternal grandmother's family seems to have come from Lublin at the turn of the 20th century, so that's interesting.

Interesting. Good luck with the reconstruction. :)

I've always wondered about my family history. Half Polish-American immigrant, half Southern-who-knows-what. Cool combo I'd say.

Polish and Texan (with some Jewish sprinkled in), it seems like, even with when going back a couple generations.

The biggest find was finding out the manifest for the ship my mother and her parents were on in 1955 to New York.

But still, the complications on my father's side!

Wow. Same ethnic background!

Wow. That certainly is, er, complicated. I myself figure anybody I need to know I already do, and if I don't I won't miss them, a.k.a. the "I'm too lazy to research my family" approach.

More tolerable doesn't mean its good, just less bad.

I don't like music that is described as "less bad" :p

My rant? Not enough hours in the day...

My rant? Finals start in 8.5 hours. :suicide:

^As if I don't check that site at midnight every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday :p Definitely an interesting concept though. If only such an idea worked with the American educational system...

I set up my schedule next semester such that I will be very close to being able to pulli it off. :smug:

They say it drives you nuts, though...:hmm:

I, too, have incorporated xkcd into my schedule. It's easier being in the central time zone; comics are uploaded one hour "earlier".
