PAYING BILLS SUCKS.
Especially when for some reason, they absolutely will not schedule an electronic payment on a weekend. Meaning that it would take four days to do so, even though they want to be paid by Sunday.
Well, they can just settle for it being a day late, then.

I usually ask to be put on the do-not-call list, at which point they usually politely hang up on me.

I'm just doing my job, if your rude enough to hang up the phone, i'll keep ringing you for half an hour or so.

Actually, it does cost me; the woman whose office is right by my desk gets all bent out of shape when she feels I am being rude to telemarketers (which she defines as "saying no thank you and hanging up"), so I end up having to be impolite to avoid being seen as impolite.
But the way I see it, why do they even care? If a telemarketer is getting emotionally invested, they have a problem. I get 50 or so calls from them a day, but most of them realize that if I am not going to buy what they offer (or transfer them to someone who will) they shouldn't waste their time. I don't hate them; I am sure they need the money. But the fact of the matter is, I don't see why they need to waste their time.
(I realize that some of you are making parallels to what I spent 2 years doing. To which I say: if someone slammed a door in my face, I wouldn't keep ringing the doorbell.)

Ah, but all i have to do is hit one key to redial, and heck, i'm stuck in that booth for hours, wasting a few minutes redialing isnt going to hurt.
