I saw Solo. It was a perfectly okay film. It wasn't great and it wasn't bad. It was totally adequate and lived up to what I expected it to be: A solid action/heist film with some cool nods to the OT. It was, in every way, totally okay and unspectacular.

We left my wife's wedding and engagement ring by the pool last night. It is no longer there. Waiting for the front office to open and see if someone turned it in. They aren't worth much but the engagement ring is a family heirloom. Here's hoping people in this building are honest. I once left my wedding band in a classroom in university and it was never returned or turned in; I do not have high hopes for these. The mrs is distraught.

While nominally true, at least in my state, the office of the state labor commissioner seems to meet the intent.

IIRC, every state plus the federal government has a Board of Labor Relations. I was just making fun of Synsensa for using the British spelling of Labor. Those boards are indeed the bodies that you would report wage theft to (no idea what a labor commissioner does).

The problem is they are - by design, to some extent - largely impotent, and when they actually do stuff it's almost always too little too late.

Just because of size California has this commissioner's office that oversees things like the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (they do wage theft), the Agricultural Labor Relations Board, etc etc etc. Basically, our Labor Relations Board is broken up into specialty units.

Ah, I see. Yeah, not that I think about it there are some more specialized boards in other states as well. Lots of states for example have particular bodies that are set up to deal with issues pertaining to prevailing wage work.

Canadians can't even agree on what Canadian English is, so whatevs. We have a couple style guides for "official" Canadian English editing/writing but I've never worked with anyone who ever followed them.

Whatever spellings are used by the CBC is considered the correct way, except when their reporters don't proofread and I have to send in a report of a typo (and give them hell for being too lazy to proofread their articles before hitting 'submit'.

Oh, and my computer thinks Canadian English means using the French alphabet. I hate having to reset it.

people discussing stuff is cool , especially if you lack suitable trackin' stuff that reads the web entirely each and every day . How else ı would learn the droid ı didn't particularly like is taken as a slur by "activists" ? Says the poster who is like fond of "ss-kicking" girls since like Princess Organa and Terminator bunch . Much better if they are not pushed into your face .
