Hey everyone who is waiting on new Norway content, the World Cup has taken over my life and I'm really stressed with work

So far I have a white water rafting video that's 35 minutes long. I need to watch it and cut things out, but I don't have time. I am pretty stressed, I will maybe post the longer video first and a summary video later. Or maybe just the long video and an index to various interesting parts? I think that could work but I just don't have time to dedicate to thinking about this right now

I don't want to clutter up that thread with posts like this, so I am writing this here, at the bottom of a thread where nobody will probably read it and remember that I'm behind in my updates.
I've seen part of it, and wouldn't mind seeing the rest. That way people can ask questions about whichever things grab their particular attention.

I've tried to like keep politics and the like at bay to sort of maintain my IRL friendships, but I'm getting more and more annoyed about this chap lately

You work in mathematics, right? I can see why you'd like it for that.

Yes, and it's indispensible for the squiggles I need.
C^{(0)}_{(0)}.
But it's definitely overkill for waiting staff writing down orders on their iPlods.

I'm going to lose the sea view from my office,
the building next door is getting an additional floor added on, blocking my view.

Same

Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires doesn't have english voice acting and I'm mad about this

Foreman to Applicant for Rooftop Job: Do you know the difference between a joist and a girder, Paddy?
Paddy: Of course. Joist wrote Ulysses, and Girder wrote Faust.

The Lame Jokes thread is that way. :)

Grrr. An 18 wheeler went down my street and tore the internet cable from the power pole leading to my house. I was offline for all of last night and half of the day. I almost went nuts!

Well more than I usually am... :D

You have my deepest sympathies.
Could you sketch what you are having for lunch and post it to your friends?

Fixed surprisingly quickly. Bell committed to fiber on my block in my hometown 12 years ago and they're still crackin' at it.

At least you have decent speeds when it's available. For us, "Bell" describes
our network of Towncrier-to-the-Mall.

Reminds me of a similar thing when I was with SHAW. They'd stretched the cable across the back alley, the grader came along, ripped it out and took off with it.

SHAW had all kinds of excuses for their miserable "service" including "the guy we sent knocked on your door for 10 solid minutes and you weren't home."

Which was a lie. I was home and it would have been impossible NOT to hear someone knocking on the door. And no service guy would spend 10 minutes at it.

I'm not with SHAW anymore, thank goodness.

Rocket Lab scrubbed each day this weekend as well as today. Their next attempt is tomorrow and I feel like my life is on hold until this rocket gets off the pad. It's not as bad as it could be but not finding out if you have to work an overnight shift until the morning is getting old. I can't really make plans and my sleep schedule is all over the place. It's disruptive. Just launch already!

(but seriously take your time and get this right Rocket Lab)

LPT: If you want a job make sure your PowerPoint and Excel skills are on point before picking up LaTeX. And when you get that job, don't immediately try and break everyone's work flows because of your fetish for LaTeX. It probably won't get you fired but it won't win you many friends and it doesn't help anyone.

Urgh, go on then... LPT?
