My brother has officially become insane, I think. If you hear any reports of a 12-year-old brutally stabbing people in a suburb of Seattle, and I'm not here, you'll kow it's him.
My impulse told me it was an inside joke for NESers, but apparently I was off by a million miles!
The song You, Me, and the Bourgeoisie, from the iPhone commercial, seemed like an odd title and looking into it I saw it did seem to take bring forward some issues and criticized the first world, as in we have all this stuff and its sad "plastic bottles... sweatshop labor" and that's all well and good, but then who's bright idea was it to use it in an iPhone commercial, and why would the band then sell it to them? Way to sell out before you're known.
and was it for the iPhone or the iTouch? . .. .. .. . it, they look the same, iDon't care.

We NESers DO have inside jokes. This ain't a problem, just be more active in the NES forum (While We Wait is like the OT for NESers)![]()
I wanted to pull a "made you post". Is that so wrong? Some moron has smashed the window on my dad's van. They didn't take anything or even attempt to steal the thing... they just smashed it for the hell of it. WHY!?![]()
Ooh, yeah, I rant about this! NES is allowed to have an Off-Topic thread but no other subforum is, why is this? Also, NESers are allowed to get away with flaming each other in said thread! Why is this?
(cue mass OT rush to the While We Wait thread)
It happens quite often, I think. Take for example the Rage Against the Machine song "No Shelter." It criticizes the entertainment and news industry, yet it gets included on that (relatively) new Godzilla movie which came out a decade ago. And it even has the line "Godzilla pure mutherf@#kin filler/ get your eyes off the real killer." Whether Rage sold out or were just playing the movie producers as fools, I dont know.
That's true, I think the producers heard "godzilla' and figured the song had to be on their album. That's assuming the song was made beforehand. But he message of the band, and that song in particular, has nothing to do with the film, so either Rage sold out in a really ironic way or were trying to get a message across somehow. IDK, they did it with the Matrix to, but that movie at least had a more to do with that thinking.
But back to my rant about that song in the iWhatever commercial: Grr.
How do businesses go about choosing songs for advertising, that's what I've got to find out.
