Todays rant: Somebody hit my car and then tried to blame it on me and get me to pay damages. My car was a) PARKED!!!! and b) in the DEAD CENTRE of the spot. Who hits a parked car and blames it on them. Then I said just that, and they accused me of racism, of not paying just because he is black. This is when I said "there is a security camera here. lets just have them show us the tapes, and settle it once and for all whose fault it is" (thinking he'd get the point that MY CAR WAS PARKED. IT DID NOT SUDDENLY ROLL BACKWARDS AND HIT HIS MOVING CAR.) But no. He goes and says "now you gettin' the cops in on this? you ******* racist man. Im not goin to the cops!" To get things straight, I never mentioned cops once. I mentioned a security camera run by my friend's apartment building. We could go inside and watch the video. No police! At this point, hes just getting worse, and its rediculous. I ask him for his insurance, at which point I finally convince him to go inside so I can prove to him that HE HIT MY CAR. I was even walking to it at the time, so he couldnt have run.

We watch the video. A security guard is there too. He finds this whole thing idiotic, as do I. Finally the man agrees to pay. He leaves me his contact information, and goes. I go to the shop, and get a quote. Its a lot. I leave it there, and call the man to get him to pay for it. He then tells me "oh, but I cant afford it". I don't believe it for a second (firstly, I have an insurance number. if he didnt make it up, they would pay. secondly, he was driving a merc.) I tell him that he needs to somehow pay for the damages and a rental, or I would have to go to a judge and make a claim. He FINALLY agrees to talk to his insurance company, and pay the difference himself. All this took a few hours, and just happened from me running to a friends apartment for 5 minutes. As well, this weekend is a long weekend, meaning Ill be without my car for an extra few days, at least. (they arent open sundays, and monday is a holiday) I can expect it back by June at absolute latest. Meaning I should get it, oh, July?

You always file a police report if you are in an accident, always! Also exchange insurance cards so you can actually write down his insurance company and policy number. Don't ever just trust that someone will pay up.

I exchanged insurance, pretty sure I wrote that.

Also, the 'security guard' is a uniformed cop, with a "security guard" patch next to his Police badge. So he has the report filed.

Why do you want to write in a 'quicker' manner? Really, there's nothing 'easier' about sillyshort hand.
And also, read what you write in sillyshort hand, it sounds, really, really, really silly. I mean, think turns into... fink? Eh? Say what?

Consider it forum etiqutte, and politeness, and all that.

AtheistDCfan: Typing like that is irritating for everyone except the person who types it. It should not take too much more effort to write out a full sentence. This sentence for example took about fiveish seconds (did not time myself but I approximate)

If i hadn't been banned several times, point blank lied to TF, argued with most of the senior mods.... i honestly think i would be a good candidate. I do a lot to try an help the forum, and i cetainly know it inside out.. why would it be so horrible?

Aww thanks for being calm to me! That's a first, everyone else I talk to personally tends to get irked! But really, there's no reason to let an internet forum get your tempers going... some people even get upset to the point that they leave the darn place, a wise move if you get upset like that, but seriously, there is NO reason you should get upset at all over a forum.

...How easier is it really to type u no instead of you know? A FEW keystrokes difference... really it isn't easier at all... just a LITTLE quicker.... nothing is harder about reaching your finger over to the y which is right next to the u. And hey, its not a chat room either, you have ALL the time in the world to post.

If your message is that important to share with other people, don't you think you ought to give it the time of day it deserves to be typed?
