A lot of your complaints are pretty petty sounds like your just pissed off about the first incident.

Actually the first incident was the most recent. When these things become chronic and they are already, it is easy for "petty" to become non-petty. I've hated my dad for more than a few years now. So it isn't just the first incident listed that is pissing me off.

5. We annually take two weeks off in the summer for "vacation". I use the term vacation very loosely here in the fact that not once has anyone other than my dad chosent he location of our vacation, it is always in the most boring part of the U.S. We go to some cool place like Vermont/Maine/Colorado/California and he makes life miserable every time. How is that possible? The jerk drives on dirt roads (literally dirt, no pavement) for hours upon hours, and will drive through farmland/woodland, as if we don't have enough of it back at home. If you know me, you'd know I love the country and open land. But for vaction, is it too much to ask to go someplace fun and different? Money is not an issue, he is president of his business for pete's sake. So why can't we go to someplace like Europe for even just a week? Who knows, my dad has something wrong in his head.

Meh, at least you have vacations. I hadn't gone anywhere to vacation in my life until this past March to Minnesota. First time on a plane, all that.

The rest...well...jerky, yes. The only one I see a huge issue with is the treatment of the dog. You should stand up for that, though I'm not sure you used the best way to get it across (a death threat?). Next biggest issue would be how he put you down with the sports/in general. Could be he's just joking on some things and comes across like an idiot, but he should let up on preteens and teens. I don't blame you for wanting to be elsewhere then. It may sound like you're also trying all those sports just to be better than he is. If you do it because you enjoy it, fine, but no need to play 86 sports if you don't want to. But that's your decision.

Oh and the hatred of anything that even sounds liberal to him. He should probably at least listen to what it is before rejecting it.

But, those are my two shekels.

I should clarify that I never did actually give a verbal death threat to my dad, but I made it clear through my tone, my demeanor, and my expressions that I would not hesitate to stand up to that crap. To put the dog thing in context a bit, he hates the dog for no reasons other than that he pees a lot and barks a lot. But so does our other dog that he likes the best. So the night of the incident, he was trying to act all alpha-male on the beagle and was making a fool out of himself because the rest of our family knows it is no use, you just ignore the dog, love him, give him attention, and scold him, and leave it at that. Well my dad got frustrated and carried away and then tripped over one of our high chairs and proceeded to fall down and knock the whole table/other chairs down. And so just because he was humilated by this, he took it out on my dog by beating him and then threw him down the stairs. It is all calculated, thats what pisses me off the most.

And about the vacations, I realize how lucky I am to be with a family that is able to go on vacations, but when your dad chooses place completely opposite of where everyone else would go and doesn't even ask us where we would like to go, it shows to me an absence of care and consideration for me, my sister, and my mom.

I like to compare it to gift-giving. Just because I give you a new car for Christmas doesn't mean I love you. It doesn't mean you are loved at all.

As for the sports, I play them because I like them. Though he would have essentially and emotionally disowned me and shown 100 times more disrespect for me had I ran track in the spring instead of play lacrosse for a coach I would have preferred not to play for.

It is hard for me to come to terms with my "hating" him because he gives a lot to me, but mostly material things. I feel he shows no love, care, consideration, anything for me at all. If I come across as a spoiled brat because of it than so be it. I am grateful for the material things he provides, but I cannot continue to love a person that does not respect/love/care for me.

Interesting...my armchair psychology is telling me that he may just need to be the one in control of everything. I have a control freak father too (and I suppose I am one also, which accounts for the clashes that arise), but nowhere near that extent.

For vacations...well, take it as family bonding. I don't know the disappointment of hoping to go off to.....I dunno....Montreal and end up in some bungalow on the Joisey Shore...but losing yourself in the woods could be a family bonding experience.

Maybe you looking to go off to college will change something. If nothing else, you may have the opportunity to assert some space and spend more time with all your loving friends on OT!

I do get where you're coming from, however. Now give me all that material stuff.

Well, now I think I'm in major trouble... I seriously need help, I already sent the original mother a message, but she read it, and didn't respond... Finally I never had a headline that said that... I believe the headline I had was "I ain't done, this ain't the chorus, I ain't even fudged you in the woods yet to paint the forest" from the Eminem song "Kill You"... Not that that's a whole lot better, but that's beside the point.

Well it's time to go face to face with the parents and apologize for posting a song that may not be appropriate for their kids.

It wasn't a song, but a lyric from one that I used as my headline... I always use lyrics from a rap song for my headline... I really feel that I'm the one who should be upset here though, cause they have a problem with me. But won't even say it to me, I mean I saw one of these mothers yesterday, and she was perfectly nice to me.

1) Yes I know that of course, but exagerrated or not I'm worried...
2) No, but if they got together they could sure do alot of damage to it...

I disagree. NC, i would tell that woman to go to hell. It's not your fault some 12 year old logged on to your myspace and saw some "naughty" words! If she's that concerned about being her child's thought police (which she obviously is, if she's home schooling her kid), then she shouldn't let her kid go on the internet! If she makes a big deal about it, point out what I just did. There's nothing you can do now, this woman already hates you, so you might as well get some satisfaction from telling her off - and being exactly right about it. Really, you just don't need those people in your life, so don't sweat it.

I'm just not sure I'm ready for the consequences of that. As at that point my social life can be all but destroyed by these people. Oh, and did I mention she's friends with my Mom too? I fall into D), Tall and Skinny. I need W29L36(I can get away with 28) Pants. Do those exist ANYWHERE? NO. I have 3 pairs of pants (2 jeans, 1 suit), and they were all labeled 'irregular sized'.

So not only can I not find pants, I'm irregular. THANKS, brand name AND generic clothes companies!

I think you overestimate the influence other people's parents have over other people. You and your friends aren't 10 anymore.

But that doesn't matter now, because another kid has started spreading rumors, and told a friend of mine I'de said lots of mean stuff about him, but I haven't so I'm going to have to kick this kids sorry ass... And getting in a major fight is bound to push any mother who was sitting on the fence over... Not to menion that he teaches Karate so I'll die anyway But, some things a man just can't allow, ya know? Well, I'll see everyone Friday, and probably get myself perm-banned from the group Which sucks, cause it's the best one I've ever been in...

Keeping with the traditional CF topics: Women, specifically one which probably represents a good deal of them in one way or another.

I went on a date June 2006 with a girl I met at a show. She proceeded to pretty much ignore me all summer and get someone else in September, stating that I was a "nice guy". My replacement tried to use her for sex before I ever showed up, but I suppose he deserves a second chance right?

Fast forward to late April 2007. She emails me out of the blue wanting to get back together. I'm down with it as my current girlfriend/prom date was going to be let go anyway. I never really hear from her again after this and she blocks all the accounts on AIM she knows about (I have 3, 1 for gaming buddies, 1 for real life people, and the other for real life people/libertarians) for no reason at all. I ran into her by chance and she seemed to remember who I am and was friendly.

Here's the kicker: She decided to get herself a boyfriend, and according to comments on her Myspace I read while leaving my own they seem to be having sex.

Now granted, I don't really mind too much because this is exactly what I expected out of her. But the least she could have done is to let me know that the offer expired.

I hate it when people just can't make up their minds, and when they do (and it is always not in my favour) never have the gumption or the courtesy to tell me what's up, they just seem to never talk to me and hope that I get the message, little do they know that I knew what the message was before she even thought it. Yay cynicism.

At least you get vacations. The last real vacation I had was in 2003 and lasted for 3 days. The rest are day trips to the beach maybe once a year. My parents always end up arguing about something and that isn't even the worst part anymore. My sister literally went crazy last year, she absolutly hates me because she blames me for her relationship ending (which was because of her schizophrenia). This probably precludes a family vacation. Though she and my mom will take trips and the hell with my dad and I.

I can't wait to get a car so I can stop relying on others to get me places, because they never go.

Be a baddonkey and just not care. If you can't not care, then at least act like you don't care what they say. Keep on doing/acting they way you were. If they want to be snoopy/gossipy/sticking their nose in everyone's business then thats their problem not yours. Face it, just about 99.9 percent of adults curse. If their world comes crashing down in addition to their kids' world because of curse words, then they have much bigger issues to reconcile then you do.

I wouldn't say you're being a jerk. They're talking about you behind your back and it needs to stop. Either fight him and knock some sense into him (the end result will most likely be you two see the trivialness of the whole ordeal and make up and become good friends again. Thats what actual fist fighting between two friends typically does), or you can try and talk some sense into him and find out the the heck his problem is and why he essentially betrayed your trust.

Just whatever you do, be the cool, calm, and controlled one in the fight or without the fight. You have to think about not only your present relationship during this bs with him/everyone else involved, but also afterwards. If you literally act around your "friend" like this is a load of middle school crap and you're too old to be debating this nonsense, then you'll earn more respect that way. Tell your friend to grow some balls and stand up to his parents rather than act like their "beeotch" 24/7.
