Hi,

I noticed that ranged units don't get bombard like ranged siege.

Why would I use the ranged units over melee units to attack? Is there some kind of advantage?

They can't get attacked back in the act and thus it's a free shot of a sort. A good way to start an attack wave.

But this isn't true? I attacked a city with my ranged units and they died? They don't have the ranged bombard so they take damage like a normal melee unit?

A ranged bombard isn't a standard attack. They are two different actions. There's a mission icon for ranged assault. If you move in to attack, even with a distance armed unit, you're sending it in to a much shorter range engagement that will likely go melee before the combat is over.

No... Ranged units do not have this icon... Only siege weapons.

You've somehow turned off the option for ranged assault in the BUG options then. It really shouldn't be an option any more but I don't think we've officially turned it invisible. It's NOT Archer Bombard.

Do the atlatl wielders in the Prehistory era have access to this ranged attack? Maybe they don't and I need proper archers? I've not touched any of the BUG settings but I am using this map:

Maybe it comes preloaded with that setting?

UEM is a Scenario so yes, Pit 2015 has changed some things for His scenario to work and play. But that does not mean you can not go into BUG and change the Options afforded you there.

It is Important for a player to know that scenario's are Not supported by the Main mod team. If a bug that pertains to the main game is found and reported it is looked at. By playing UEM you are getting an extreme view of the Mod thru Pit2015's eyes. Hence why it's a scenario. You are not playing core C2C with it.

I'm aware of this. It's a fun scenario though.

What is the setting he has changed from regular C2C experience regarding the ranged units?

Have no idea as I do not Mod his Scenario. You will need to ask Pit.

Archer bombard is an old and outdated option anyhow. Ranged Assault should be on. And no, AtlAtls are throwing units, not archery. They don't get true ranged assault attacks because they must get too close for that.
