I looked at the save and we don't have a prayer with the units we've got. I know we're under time pressure. But I think a deal for rubber is called for and a mass ugrade to art and inf in order. As things stand now, we land on turn one. On the IT the AI counterattacks with MI and MA. If there's anything left of our stack, we get to bombard MI with cannon and then attack MI with cavs. Just don't see that working. Holding for comments

That was to be the plan. I haven't done any specific planning. But will do so tonight and post. IIRC it's 4-5 turns by boat to the jump off point.

Yes, I think we should not rush it. Arti and infantry will give us at least a chance.
We actually don't need the 3 movement of the cavs in this scenario as we are planning to land next to the city, right?
The cavs can still be used as a diversion to draw some of the counter attack away from our main thrust.

Recon: Our luck is holding Persia has the only surplus rubber. X will give coal for rubber. Investigate the city:

It will take 4 turns to get the boats home.

Trade X RoP + coal for RoP + Rubber

IT: America and Persia sign peace. Aarhus riots

1730: MM. Change lots of builds to inf. Sign RoP with Abe

Nothing until our silks deal ran out with Rome. I got them back had to give 7gpt and incense for them.

I am a bit lost as to what date the invasion needs to be?
Any advice?
I will play this tomorrow. So would be good to know when to go for it.

The troop concentration in Pasargarde doesn't seem too bad, we really might take it. I will try to do the fortress, nice idea.

According to F8 screen we would face China as candidate in an election as they have the most territory.
That's good as they are at war with Rome, Persians and Ottos.

It was at the end of my fifth turn (I count the save I receive as turn 0).

So, it needs to be captured by/on turn 5 of each turn set, or we miss it.

I think we have to own it turn 5, that means capturing it turn 4.

rrau found a similar game and posted it on page 8.

I just went back and read XTeam's SGOTM2. A vote wansn't held in turn 293. They captured the city in turn 302 and a vote was held in turn 303 and they won. Here's a link to the relevant page

So really I have to start the declaration/landing turn 3 (1766).
Then capture turn 4 (1768).
And vote is held turn 5 (1770).

One small problem with this timing is that the workers are still building fortress until 1768. So we would be ROP raping. Any problem with this?
Or would it work to capture the UN at turn 5? Will we still get to vote at the following interturn or is it required to hold the UN for 1 turn?
If we cannot answer that I will play it save and start turn 3.

Votes:
We will not get Persia (Obviously).
Should try to get Rome and Ottos.
China is at war with everyone apart from us. That will help.

I think that your interpretation is correct, land in turn 3, capture in turn 4 and hold in turn 5. The breaking of the ROP however will make everyone even more mad at us and they then won't sign a alliance against Persia or China. Therefore it would be best if we hold off the invasion for another 10 turns .

Try to get more units down there before the ROP ends
