Robert the Bruce/Scotland [10] (9+1) I don't get the hate against Robert. Sure, the AI never uses his War of Liberation; and sure, Highlanders and Golf Courses are absolute trash. But Scottish Enlightenment is incredibly easy for the AI to activate. On Deity, he often storms ahead in the Tech tree and (most annoyingly) grabs all the decent Great Scientists. In some games, I've even seen him out-pace Korea. Definitely a more consistent performer than most of the Civs remaining.
Saladin/Arabia [14]
Seondeok/Korea [21]
Shaka/Zulu [12]
Suleiman/Ottomans [15]
Tamar/Georgia [16]
Teddy Roosevelt/America [19]
Tomyris/Scythia [3] (6-3) Given how simple and effective her 'buy-one-get-one-free' bonus is for cavalry, you'd think the AI would cope as Tomyris. But I've never seen her do well. She spams Kurgans everywhere instead of proper Infrastructure. She is incredibly reluctant to declare Surprise Wars, meaning she never achieves early-game conquering. And – most weird of all – she often focuses entirely on Religion. Probably the saddest example of how confused the AI can be.

Hojo Tokimune/Japan [9] (12-3) A lack of forward planning on the AIs part leaves them poorly able to leverage Japan's district bonuses compared to a human.

Kristina/Sweden [1-3=ELIMINATED] They have no early bonuses, so they are at a disadvantage compared to other AIs for the first half of the game. And if they make it to the second, they don't know how to use her skills, and usually just end up giving you free competitions to win.

Shaka/Zulu [12]
Suleiman/Ottomans [15]
Tamar/Georgia [16]
Teddy Roosevelt/America [20] (19+1) Teddy will always dominate his continent militarily because of the +5 unit strength advantage on it, leaving him free to work on science and culture. Pretty aggressive about it too, usually, so he generally has a large empire carved out early. One of the few leaders which doesn't bother with religion, which helps his focus
Tomyris/Scythia [3-3 = ELIMINATED] AI Tomyris spams kurgans all over plains at the beginning of the game when she desperately needs food, and doesn't build either her UU (which isn't good anyway), or any horsemen for that matter, light or heavy. Always one of the first gone, or teetering on the edge of oblivion throughout
Trajan/Rome [18]
Wilhelmina/Netherlands [13]

Amanitore/Nubia [20]
Catherine/France [3] (6-3) Nothing scary. Despite her buffed spies it really doesn't feel any different from a regular game when she's around.

John Curtin/Australia [23] (22+1) The runaway science civ in every game. One of the most important AIs to kill ASAP, as that will make your game so much easier... only he gets a huge production boost if you declare on him so good luck.

Montezuma/Aztec [15]
Mvemba a Nzinga/Kongo [23]
Pachacuti/Inca [13]
Pedro/Brazil [16]
Pericles/Greece [22]
Peter/Russia [9] That "monk spam" is one of the reasons AI Peter sucks, because the window for him to use them effectively is relatively small and he'll keep pumping them out well past then. Not like he's got the production or gold to do anything else in his tiny little cities.

Eleanor/England [1] Why is she lower than french version? Also note that both Eleonors get a bunch of free cities just by bordering anyone warring each other. A, B, Eleonor border each other, A takes a city of B, Eleonor takes it because of low loyality and no free city stage

Lautaro/Mapuche [17] 16+1 Crazy strong in AI hands and one of only a few civs that can cause problems to a player on deity. Mountain bias = he starts campuses early in every city (rarely see HS first), so strong in science and stealing a lot of GS competing with korea . Sometimes use UI, so don't fall behind in culture. Early deity AI often gets golden era, giving Lautaro possibility to easy take neighbours. I cannot remember last time he did not well. Maybe not as consistent asKongo, but always a pain.
Montezuma/Aztec [15]
Mvemba a Nzinga/Kongo [23]
Pachacuti/Inca [13]
Pedro/Brazil [16]
Pericles/Greece [22]
Peter/Russia [9]
Poundmaker/Cree [17]
Qin Shi Huang/China [10]
Robert the Bruce/Scotland [7] 10-3 vanilla civ except enlightment. Steals early GS, but in midgame always is dominated by all neighbours. Even if stays alive, can make some science, but no chance of use it with being far behind in every other aspect. I remember one game when Scotland even expanded to 7 cities what is exceptionally great for Bruce, but shhortly after was limited to 3, without player intervention

Eleanor/England [0] [1-3] ELIMINATED A terrible leader ability. Never felt loyalty pressured by her as my neighbor, not anymore than any other civ in the game. Doesn't take advantage of any other ability either. The other Eleanor could go just as quick, but only 1 vote per day they say.

Seondeok/Korea [23] [22+1] Doesn't need breathtaking tiles for good campuses...just gets them naturally. They will likely cannibalize their adjacency late game, but the rest of the AIs will likely never have the adjacency to begin with.

Hojo Tokimune/Japan [9]
Jadwiga/Poland [6] (9-3) Two anecdotal votes for me today. In my current Deity game, Jadwiga seemed to declare an early war on all three of her neighbours simultaneously: Canada, Germany, and me (Gandhi). I didn't want a fight, so made peace quick. But about thirty turns later, I checked back on the progress of the war – only to find out that she had lost her capital to Canada. TO. GODDAM. CANADA. Another thirty turns, and she had lost her remaining cities to Loyalty issues. Pathetic. I guess she must have a high aggression preference, but doesn't build nearly enough units to back up that aggression (no doubt because she's too distracted by Religion).

Suleiman/Ottomans [16] (15+1) On the other hand, in a Deity game I finished a few days ago, Suleiman managed to completely destroy both Civs on his landmass (Victoria & Montezuma). Impressive stuff.

Gilgamesh/Sumeria [7]
Gitarja/Indonesia [9] - 12-3 - Has never done that well in my games, which may be due to the fact that a lot of the map types don't have that many small islands. Can't remember seeing her ever building a Jong
Gorgo/Greece [13]
Hojo Tokimune/Japan [9]
Jadwiga/Poland [6]
John Curtin/Australia [23]
Lautaro/Mapuche [18] - 17+1 - As mentioned by others, the AI always seems to do quite well as Lautaro and can be a tough nut to crack.

Lautaro/Mapuche [18]
Montezuma/Aztec [15]

Frederick/Germany [18] (17+1) An advantage against city states is deadly in the hands of an AI who loves to conquer them already. Also even if he does build holy sites, he has the capacity for other districts.
Gandhi/India [16]
Genghis Khan/Mongolia [20]
Gilgamesh/Sumeria [7]
Gitarja/Indonesia [6] (9-3) Literally every single one of Indonesia's bonuses revolve around the coast, but the AI gimps itself by heavily settling inland.

Pachacuti/Inca [15] (14+1) Easy production and good science adjacencies. Naturally defensible terrain... Pachacuti always seems to do well even though the AI can't make much use of his unique unit.

Amanitore/Nubia [20]
Catherine/France [0] (3-3) ELIMINATED. Despite her super-buffed Spies, you won't notice any difference in Espionage when she's in the game. Nor does she ever come close to a Tourism victory. The AI embodiment of 'meh'.

Hojo Tokimune/Japan [7] (6+1) I disagree with the negative press towards Hojo. Yes, it is painful seeing the AI struggle to use 'Meiji Restoration' as well as a human player would. But on the other hand, it's such an easy bonus to activate that, in my experience, Hojo still manages to 'accidentally' benefit from it regardless (much like how Korea often ruins the +4 adjacency for her Seowon, but still benefits massively from it on the whole). As for 'Divine Wind', it's a double-edged sword. +100% production towards Holy Sites = far too much time dedicated to Religion. But +100% towards Theatre Squares means he often manages to do well in the Civic tree, which boosts his overall performance considerably. Sometimes, he even reaches stage two or three of the space race. IMO, he's way more competent than some of the remaining Civs on this list.

Hojo Tokimune/Japan [7]
Jadwiga/Poland [3] (6-3) Occasionally she culture bombs you but otherwise she's rarely a problem. Tries to do everything but ends up behind at most of them.
John Curtin/Australia [23]
Lautaro/Mapuche [19] (18+1) Throwing another upvote here. It's all about the golden age combat bonus. On higher difficulties just having Lautaro around forces you to manage your ages and go to war when you'll have more loyalty pressure to face or keep him as close a buddy as possible. And he'll often stomp another AI or two if you don't get in his way...

Teddy Roosevelt/America [21] [20+1] Apparently Teddy is programmed to beeline Forbidden City in the current version. Only leader to beat me to it in the current version of the game. Probably has something to do with his diplo favor from wildcard ability. Regardless, most AIs spend the whole game building the useless or middlin' wonders. Smart move to go for Forbidden, denying the player of one of the best wonders.

Oh hey a new elimination thread! Nifty!

Amanitore/Nubia [21] (20+1) So this is the civ that popped into my mind when I read the title. They tend to spam archers and crossbows early and this alone makes them better than most AIs and really makes me not want to have to fight them early. Also I've noticed they tend to be one of the only AIs that actually builds sea walls in the late game.

Pedro/Brazil [13] (16-3) Brazil on the other hand has never been a threat at all in any game. They tend to declare war randomly and then lose it. Never seen them do anything else really.

Frederick/Germany [19] 18 + 1: He always destroys my city-state allies, and seems to set up his Hansas well -- the good production base makes him formidable in many ways.

Jadwiga/Poland [0] 3 - 3, ELIMINATED: As mentioned earlier, she never seems to specialize in any direction, which makes her weak in all directions. At least her music sticks around after she's been wiped out.

Genghis Khan/Mongolia [21] (20+1) The OG warmonger. Any AI can receive a good spawn, get lucky with an early war, and snowball from there. But Genghis is the only AI who does it consistently. The one downside, from his perspective, is that it's easy to befriend him if you're doing a peaceful game: just don't build any cavalry units, and he'll like you pretty quick.

Qin Shi Huang/China [7] (10-3) Invests very heavily on early wonders. It's a high-risk strategy: if left alone, he can sometimes snowball; but if you attack him, he will collapse, because he never builds up a military. Or rather – he does build some military, but only Crouching Tigers, which he loves to spam. But they're completely ineffective in his hands, because they only have 1 Range and so are very easy to pick off from a distance.
