RBW3 - Mehmed the Unwise

Okay...since I took a skip last time I went ahead and played 15. I really wanted to just finish it off, but it is probably another 10 turns. Probably a good thing I stopped there...I forgot to turn off better AI before playing my turnset :mischief:.

I first checked on Izzy:

. Friendly and she doesn't like us enough to capitulate or trade techs. Last time I protect her in a game. I drafted and whipped a few turns then got tired of it...this game is over it is just a matter of time. I took 4 cities and Athens is toast next turn:

Alex and Monty actually threw some nice sized stacks at us. They were Rifleman/Knight/Treb stacks although Cavalry showed up at the end. I was fairly conservative on my advances, so we have some nice coherent stacks near the front and nothing behind the lines to worry about. I automated all the troops to the front (Russian city was the waypoint) and I automated Workers. If you really want to cancel those orders to lay down some railroads, go for it although it really doesn't matter. Let's see...what else? Oh, after Railroads came in I selected Assembly Line. Maybe we can upgrade a few troops to Infantry. Also, I emphasized Culture in all cities that border Spain. That dirty ho detonated a culture bomb in her new founded city where we didn't have anything built up, stealing multiple tiles. Speaking of bombs...another GA was born. Here is what I did with the both of 'em:

We're unwise, but we don't have to be stupid. I have a spawned GG en route to the Galleon as well. A military gives Culture which I don't want to fight ;).

Ozzy, you might get to finish this one:

I've been unable to get access to the site for a couple of days for some strange reason. Anyway I think this is what happened...

Well tha cannons keep rolling across Greece, occasionally supported by cavalry.

Athens falls.

Thebes out of revolt 61.19%

GG born, I send him to Stalin.

Sparta out of revolt 62.09%.

Knossos falls

Pharsalos falls.

I whip theatres, employs artists, build culture, up the culture slider, anything to expand borders quicker. I'm getting 6 cities expand borders in 1764AD, currently at 62.3%, cross fingers.

We had a lot of troops at the end of the game.

A tidy 66,107 points

A hard game to get into, for one particular reason :mischief: but a pretty straight forward win.

Thanks again to the team, it has been a pleasure serving with you as usual :goodjob:

Nice job closing it out :goodjob:!

Lurker's Comment:Good job team! Enjoyed lurking this one. What's next?

Well, assuming we can talk ThERat into continuing, I would like to take this series to Immortal as well. Obviously due to the variant we will be running a CE, and at Emperor/Immortal we'll need a Financial leader to have a good shot. I would recommend we use Hannibal and Ragnar for the next two, in any order (mostly to use Warlords specific leaders but also for the traits).

nice job finishing. somehow this didn't pose a real challenge. the 1.08 AI builds massively cottages and thus is very short on units...

It's fine with me to continue at immortal

I would save Hannibal for Immortal as he is somewhat overpowered (except if you're stuck in the middle os the land mass I suppose). Ragnar would be good, Wang Kon is interesting and the Hwacha pretty good.

I like Agressive a good deal more than Protective, but the Hwacha is pretty darn fun :). I guess either one is fine with me, and saving Hannibal for Immortal is a good move.

Nice-Another Win, Monarch was never going to be a challenge I think we will start to feel the lack of scientists, great library, and the philosophy lightbulb on Emperor.

I like Agg. much better than Protective (fast castles :rolleye: ?)
So is that Emperor Ragnar the Ignorant or Emperor Ragnar the UnGreat? ;)

lurker's comment: Great game you guys! It was fun to lurk. Good to see that the legacy will continue on. I'll be there to follow :)
