Well Canada's economy is directly tied to America's. Our foreign policy has brought economic benefits to your country as well as ours. And I don't see Canada boycotting Saudi oil or calling for removal of all the dictators America installed.

Canada is a good friend of Cuba. Other than that, there isn't that much we can do or say without getting into serious trouble.

But I thought your Prime Minister showed some balls when he criticized the USA's policy on global warming. That would have made me proud if I was Canadian.

Sadly though, our policy in this regard isn't any better. We preach a lot about the environment, but do very little. So no, when our Prime Minister talks about global warming, it doesn't make us all that proud. :(

And why is that? Assuming i'm just jealous, then i want to be just like you, right? Then when i move to the USA, i'll be just like any American. They won't even be able to tell that i'm Canadian. Heck, after a while, i won't even really be Canadian anymore!

Your argument is seriously flawed.

You think people commit suicide bombings against you because they're jealous of you? Yeah right. If you're jealous of your neighbour's lawn, does that make you want to destroy it in a suicide mission? If your neighbour is keeping your wife and children in chains in his basement and the only way to free them is to suicide bomb his house, would you then be more likely to do so? Don't you think that's a much more reasonable explanation?

1) I was just joking about you getting picked on at work. That's why I did the ;) face. It's obvious you have many reasons why you wouldn't want to work here. I was just kidding around.

2) I never said you were jealous or made any "argument" based on that. So please direct your comments towards someone else.

Got it, thanks for clearing it up. I know you were just kidding, but it wasn't a funny joke. At least not to me! :(

So I'll make my comment quick
For all of my Americans Friends and I do Truly Love America like an older brother,
As for Canada's Prime Minister Standing up to 'you' (The US) I was proud yes... sometimes family fights, but this time it was just a 'younger' brother baiting on his older one. :p
But the fact with the environment is The US said NO to the Kyoto accord, since then Canada's Greenhouse Emmisions are up 24% (even though we said yes to Kyoto, and have agreed to reduce our greenhouse gases by 5% by 2011, from whenever it was enacted (1996 I think)) So we are WAY behind)
On the flip side the US who said no have only increased thier GH Gases 12%...
Nothing beats tallking but not doing

So my only question for you Zombie69 being a fellow Canadian

@Zombie69, if you are old enough to vote, who are you voting for this Monday and Why?

For me this should explain alot of things. :D

Sorry I know it was [offtopic] but I had to know

On topic with the Thread and other posts, Back to A time win (2050)...what happens to the civ series when we get to the year 2050.... will civ go until 2100?

I don't understand why are you wasting your fingers. Aa one of our old saying says. "you cannot bring wisdom to a fool, you let the fool find it himself" usually by braking his head several times. America is stuck in the quicksand right now, waving flags and bumping its chest while it "proudly" sinks. So just sit back and enjoy the show. It is already at the point where it has to show teeth at countries like Iran because the cost of action is simply too great and its economy is at China's mercy. And if nobody haven't notice no one apart from America, because of a lot of Jews in high places and a healthy evangelical population, gives a damn about Isreal. It is a safe bet that if Isreal is attacked nobody will offer help apart from america and soon(historically speaking) it won't be able to. Because of the nukes of course military attack won't be possible but if you last checked Jews are a puny people numbering far less than the arabs. Isreal will either be economically suffocated because arabs don't like em and if the arabs get their economies running, Europe, Russia and the like will concentrate on them. Or they'll simply be overun demographically to the point where Isreal is no longer a jewish state. I mean if you exclude emotion and religion tell me one good reason while you'll choose to support the small number of Isrealies over the millions of Arabs. At the very least Arabs can make a lot more trouble to you as a country than the Isrealies can so it pays to be on friendly terms. Emotions has no place in real politics otherwise you can never do what is best for the majority because it always requires a minority to "sacriface".

You know, sometimes people ask who America is to police the world. *points at me_Barb's post*

Who else is going to do it?

For the record, Iran is Europe's mess, Iran has been dealt with United Nations style since the 70's, nice work UN.

On Canada: It must be quite lovely being able to claim innocence from all things corrupt and wicked in the world because you can, quite simply, rely on your bigger brother to the south to do anything that needs doing. The truth is you could say anything you want, if **** hit the fan in Canada the USA would be there the next day to help. There's political justice for you...

Yeah, someone please close this thread. Some people are obviously just posting to flame bait me. After the 10th bait, it becomes pretty hard not to bite. So please, would a moderator just close this? It's become pretty pointless anyway since one side obviously isn't interested in having intelligent discussions.

And the other side (every other poster in this thread) wants to have an intelligent discussion.

Yeah, but maybe the USA already won diplomatic victory, immediately after WWII. It would have gotten votes from most of the world at that point.

The rest of history has occurred after we pressed the "Wait...just one more turn," button.

I dont really see it that way!!! After wwII United Nation has been founded and in its early history up until 1990, it was mostly divided in 2 (two superpowers Soviet/American) Around 1990 Us has been elected to Secretary and now shaping the world throught politics!!!

But if they EVER ask if the other let them win!!! I'm sure that more they wouldnt get enough vote ;) China would not agree... UK may agree but I really think they wouldnt... URSS would not agree... and France... they think they've won a long time ago... and even beaten to the ground they would believe themslf the winners

Because as someone who doesn't live in the US and therefore doesn't get to vote in your elections, the only way i have to make the world a better place is to post in forums trying to sway a person or two.

It's not like i enjoy this.

Sway us to what end?

I will vote for whoever I feel is going to make the country in which I live a better place for me and my family. I think I speak for most Americans when I say I couldn't care less what some Canadian, Frenchmen, or Russian think is best for me and my family.

China Domination Vic

They may not have the amount of land but once 98.7% of the world is Chinese who is gonna care?

US could go space race but they need to re-research rocketry as their SS casings suck ass. Also I think they have turned their research and culture sliders down to 0%. They are doing a good job at sabotaging anyone elses chance at diplomatic by finding a tech that obsoletes the UN

Hey, don't discount Mexico! China has a limit of one child. My former roommate (Mexican) used to joke that Mexico is slowly taking back America :) Though their population is just a small fraction of China now, I wouldn't put it past them! :p

I've been to Chicago many times. Great city. Meant no diss to the city, just like meant nothing against to Philly for mentioning Chicago instead of it :)

zombie69,

If you wish to sway American's opinions (in hopes of changing their votes), then you surely need to imploy different stragety and tactics. It also helps to have facts that corroborate your beliefs. For one, the US Constitution is HARD to change.

Mr. Civtastic said:
Completely wrong. Do you have any idea how the constitution is changed? Clearly not. Like I said earlier, the constitution hasnt been changed since 1992. Its been changed less then 30 times in over 200 years. It takes 2/3 of the house of representatives AND 2/3 vote from the Senate AND the president to sign it in (and not veto it). I fail to see how any of that is "easy"

That's not the complete picture. ALSO, you need 75% of the states to each ratify the amendment. All of the above is a DAUNTING task. And yes, in a democracy, if such an overwhelming majority of the population feel that abortion should be illegal, then it makes sense for the country to follow that route. Especially on an issue of women's rights vs baby's rights, versus other issues such as privacy invasion or otherwise.

And the US is extremely good about freedom of speech. After 9/11, the civil rights have been eroded and Bush continues to expand Government powers, but the US is still "relatively" very good on rights, even compared to European countries. Look at the limitations of speech in France or Germany, or spying going on in England. It's bad everywhere.

Liberals. Because back when Jean Chrétien was Prime Minister, i said i'd start voting liberal when he steps down and Paul Martin takes over. Was voting conservative until then.

Conservatives : i can't vote for a party with those kinds of values. Not when i have an alternative.

NDP : they're left, i'm right. Enough said.

Bloc : i may live in Quebec, but i'm a federalist. If Quebec separates, i'll move to Canada.
