Realpolitik CIV - An Interactive AAR

I should probably rephrase my post:

Don't you think Oceania would be too isolated of a place to waste time in? Why not instead expand in Eurasia?

MathNerd, I think Oceania IS isolated, but is worth it. Australia by itself is equivalent to France, and parts of Spain. The islands allow for outposts. We won't get there until Astronomy though, as the needed transports aren't there yet.

Eurasia just has SO many civs, while I believe Oceania to be isolated, and is free to our taking. Eurasia is first, as I outlined in one of my posts earlier on the previous page.

I see where you are coming from. You have successfully swayed me towards Oceania. Why not colonize a nearly empty expanse?

Also, welcome to the great Educated Party, DarkObserver!

Oh, I almost forgot, I appoint MathNerd as my second-in-command in case I'm away for a long time.

OK, I'm on vacation until the day after tomorrow - But I can still check this spot every now and then.

Now -

Nations -

I don't remember all of them but here's what I'm positive we've got other then England:

- Rome
- Vikings
- Russia
- Native Americans
- Inca
- USA
- Japan
- Korea
- India
- Egypt
- Zulu

And here's what we might have:

- Carthage
- Mongols
- Aztecs
- Arabs
- Persia
- China

Now I'm sure we don't have ALL of the nations on the second list, but we definitely have some. I'll check when I get home.

I am very [sob] honored [sob] to be appointed [sob] to the Educated Party [sob] which will [sob] have a [pulls out piece of paper and solves some equations] high chance of succeeding. [sob] Thank you so, very much [breaks down sobbing]!

Cheesy enough, or should I add some elements of other parties to add some lies, campaign promises, and of course, make it even worse to listen to?

USA, Native Americans, Aztecs, and Incas are there which will help prevent a North American Runaway Civ. Carthage would hinder our Africian efforts. Mongols the same with Germany. Russia is THERE, which mean I promote sealing up French, to prevent Rome from going north, INCLUDING blocking off a path to Spain from Rome, if there is one, then Germany, and then backfill Spain. India is there, which combined with China/Korea/Japan is going to be one interesting area. Persia/Arabia/Egypt is the same. I noticed there are African civs which are Egypt, Zulu, and maybe Carthage.

Hey! I disagreed with the Oceania thing (for a while). Anyway, you are a good convincer, what can I do? ;)

Look, I'm disagreeing with you for the second time!

True, true.

Is there major issue that we in this thread haven't talked about yet?

When you edit a post, is it common etiquette to put EDIT:blahblahblah?

I've seen it a lot, but not sure.

Without Mali, we can easily expand into the rich lands of West Africa, although it is a little unfortunate we can't get to South Africa. Also, Lighthearter, why did you say there are only England, Vikings and Rome in Europe? Russia is there as well, even if ¾ of it's territory is in Asia. With no Khmer or China, Indonesia is good to take, although we should block off the Indians, Koreans and Japanese from Oceania and Indonesia.

The AIs in Eastern Asia just have so MUCH room, they might not expand into Indonesia, but I think they will leave some land in Australia at least since they just have so much land.

I need to see a WB map before I decide fully though.

Wouldn't worldbuilder map defeat one of the aims of the game? Exploration. If we have all the answers in advance the parties can't take chances on where to settle.

I think what everyone is saying here we need a single Army Production city.

On Scotland i'll send a map out to advisors when we've fog busted up there to see if it's worth settling. We may change our minds if it turns out we only have Bronze there.

Ministers you're missing the point on the other known civilizations. INDUSTRIAL traits! With all those other leaders having it quite a lot will be going for stonehenge. Augustus we could count on bee-lining iron working and not trying to get mysticism. But the Incans and the Indians will be going for it, and if Russia is ruled by Stalin they might be going for it as well.
We may need to rush Bronze working before we bee-line writing so we can aid stonehenge with some chopped forests if we want to definatly secure this early wonder. Remember our city seems to have some sea resource without fishing boats (the previous administration wanted a barracks) so we probably have a under developed city to most as well.

lighthearter: can we please get a list of the techs we have? we know england starts with fishing and mining, but you must have researched something before you started on sailing?

Arya - Foreign Minister: Your thoughts on military placement would work but would probably only be needed on the borders of foreign interlopers. Once England and Scotland are founded they only need a bare minimum garrison to keep the people happy.

SanePerson - Interior Minister: After checking the map i've realised that the stone is on a river leading into the sea and that we can use that instead of roas to connect the stone up. Thus i'm editing the build-path to just
Worker->Stonehenge

No finishing the Barracks (it's undeeded for now)
No filler builds.
