But anyhow I shall kick off the Speeches!
Hello dear citizens of Pulias! I know that you are all very busy so I shall keep this brief. Now I do not know how much of these political debates you have heard, but I am positive that at least one of you have heard some of what has been said. So, before dirty politics get out hand, I think that all of you deserve some light to be shed on the subject. After all isn't ignorance what toppled the old regime? But, I digress.
As all of you know I have been elected temporarily as the Minister of Culture. Now among the overarching ideas I have worked to establish, one of these is a Planned Economy. Now this was not the most popular choice. In fact our Prime Minister attempted to lightly push me, while our Minister of Interior very strongly urged me to adopt a Communist Policy. To be clear, adopting a Communist Policy would make mines and quarries in Pulias' lands more efficient and the idea behind this would be to receive more raw materials to production centers. While I certainly understand the idea, and do indeed support it eventually, I firmly believe in the people, and that is who I shall stand by. The fact is, there are too few potential mine and quarry sites. These sites would end up being worked by a few citizens. These few citizens would very quickly amass power over the State since they would control very important raw materials. I believe that this would rapidly create a Bourgeois Class, and is that not just the kind of corrupt people we strived so hard, through the pain, through the loss, and through all hardships, to overthrow? So yes, I implemented a planned economy, an economy to support factories for you people of Pulias to work in, and yes I supported an economy that would encourage the hidden great engineers of Pulias to arise, instead of a Communist Policy.
So I thank all of you for your time here today, and may the good Lord watch over all of us from corruption.
