ZELENOGORSK ERUPTS IN GANG VIOLENCE. The major city of Zelenogorsk has faced upheaval in the streets as bitter gun battles have erupted between various illegal organizations. These battles involved light explosives, machine guns, and rifles of every size and type, leading to dozens of civilian casualties. Local organized crime is believed to have been linked to some of the slaughter, but it is said that the vigilante and rebel groups known as the Factory Boys and the Chernarus People’s Army were responsible for starting the campaign of gang warfare. So far the military authorities have not gotten involved in the violence, stating that the matter is one for local law enforcement rather than the army. All reports from inside sources in Zelenogorsk’s police department have so far only acknowledged that inquiries are beginning or in progress towards each of the incidents.

Opportunity: Sneaking around in Nadezdhino, our scouts have reported an interesting find relating to one of the factories. Cash payroll is about to be brought in in large amounts from the corporate headquarters in Chernogorsk. It is being brought in a nondescript armored car from the bank and only two guards. If we seize this payroll, we will obtain a large amount of funds for our efforts. Of course, the workers who will forfeit their pay for a time will likely not be too pleased with us.

Opportunity: Our scouts have spotted a temporary camp set up by a Turkish surveying company. They are scouting the 0106 region for any valuable resources for potential development and exploitation. Based on our investigations, the camp is being visited by a high ranking member of the company in the coming week. Abducting and ransoming him could allow for a high return on funds for low cost. Of course, he does have body guards and such an act could attract our group unwelcome attention from foreign interests.
Chernarus People’s Army
Spoiler:
The people of Pavlovo have thanked us for the weapons, but it appears donations will not build us any more support here.
The people of Kamenka have thanked us for the weapons, but it appears donations will not build us any support here.
Our efforts in Zelenogorks were modestly successful, but we were unable to find any truly significant targets or locations for attack. We managed to kill a large number of thugs and lowlifes, but took our own losses in resultant gun battles. Unfortunately thanks to use of explosives and automatic weapons, collateral damage was rather high in a number of our attacks and civilian casualties were heavy in most engagements.

Spoiler:
Scouting clearly reports the old Soviet bunker is in no shape for use as a temporary base, particularly after the damage caused by our explosive entry.
Our agents were unsuccessful in making any meaningful difference in crime in Kozlovka, and most people there don’t even know we exist.
We managed to have more success than the Chernarus People’s Army in Zelenogorsk, striking at a number of higher ranking members of the local crime syndicate. Unfortunately, it has not made much of a meaningful difference, but has helped us patch up our local reputation. Thankfully, we managed to avoid any severe civilian casualties.

We were successfully delivered drugs from the Deadman Cabal. They have been sold to international buyers that picked them up.
Scouts in the village of Kabanino were able to glean a new opportunity for our forces.

Spoiler:
+50 Drugs from Deadman Cabal
-50 Drugs, +2,500 Credits from international drug sales
Opportunity: Recent chaos in the area of Kabanino has been caused by the Most Christian State located somewhere to the south. Many young men were forcibly conscripted and business has suffered accordingly, while crime has spiked. Business interests have requested we raid the local chapel to eliminate recruiters and proponents of the Most Christian State. Doing so will severely diminish the support of that faction in the town, and grant us substantial support among the citizenry. As an added benefit, acting against the notorious Most Christian State may help reduce the attention and notoriety with have with the regime.

We have had substantial success in raiding government patrols before they can locate us. We have confirmed kills on two tanks and other vehicles deployed in the area. We have identified an opportunity from our successes.
Our men sent to kidnap journalists were lured into a trap. They have all been executed as fighters against the government.
Our scouts in 0507 have recognized a possible opportunity for our forces.

Spoiler:
-1,320 Credits from arms and ammunition purchases
+50 Credits from production
-8 Personnel, +3 Notoriety, -234 Ammunition, +22 Assault Rifles from attacks on government patrols in 0507 and 0607
-15 Personnel, -15 Carbines from government journalist sting
+4 Personnel from volunteers from Stary Sobor
Opportunity: We managed to capture a government soldier in the attacks on the patrols. We have learned where they have stationed their attack helicopters and crews outside of town in 0507. There is a time of day when the helicopters are lightly guarded during shift changes. While we do not have the facilities to return the helicopters to our own camp and possession, we do have a good chance here to destroy them on the ground rather than having to face them in the air. On the other hand, if things go poorly for our forces, the helicopters would make sure that anyone who survived the guards would not survive the vengeance of the crews.
Opportunity: We have learned from our scouts that several trucks carrying valuable goods from the banks in Stary Sobor are getting ready to head on the southwest road out of the city. We could have the chance to seize this wealth for ourselves, including gems, jewelry, and gold. These materials could help us buy new weapons and equipment to help our cause. On the other hand, local military forces are likely to be assigned to protect the trucks, and we do not know about the size of the defenses to be assigned.
