Recommend me a good RPG

Isn't it out of print by now? I was under the impression that the only way to get your hand on a legitimate copy is to rob the national bank of Switzerland. In order to get the instructions on how to get your hands on a copy. And even then you are unlikely to get any proper customer support.

Im selling them on Amazon for £20 right now :)

Try Rubies of Eventide.

Free, not system demanding, party based, small community, weird partly real time combat system, not truly turn based, but not a clickfest.

Vampire the Masquerade; Bloodlines.

But patch it m'kay?

I really love this game, especially since it uses a different rule system than D&D, nice to get variety.

ANother game I have been reluctant to buy because it's notoriously buggy, but after all the community patches I think I'll give it a try.
Especially since it costs just 10€ by now.

I am surprised nobody actually mentioned A Bard's Tale. This is the 2004 release (not the ancient version released by EA in the 80s ;) ). The combat is realtime and the magic is pretty simple. You get to have a few companion that you can summon using music and they stay with you until they get killed upon which you can summon again. Kinda nice and different situation requires you to summon different companion with the exception of a little dogie that you found along the way. The tongue in cheek humor is unparalleled and unseen in other games.

I like Spiderweb RPGs
Depending on your computer, Exile 1-3, Blades of Exile (open source) for very old ones, Avernum 1-5, Blades of Avernum or Geneforge 1-5 for a bit newer ones.

Good heavens, I never thought I would see someone else recommend the Exile series.
