I also second Airplane. My personal favorite funny scene is the "reveal" scene in Tootsie. I really enjoyed The Gods Must Be Crazy.

I've seen alot of these (Airplane, especially), but I'll check out the ones I haven't seen.

I was going to suggest some but they've pretty much all been taken. The only movies I have left are Groundhog Day, Ghost Busters, and Duck Soup. I'd also recommend DVD's of The Office and Arrested Development, since you ask for absolutely hilarious stuff.

Personally, if you're wanting to truly laugh, go for sitcoms.

In which case it's Blackadder. One Foot in the Grave and Only Fools and Horses

Though if you really want a movie, it's Monty Python or Dr Strangelove

The new Pink Panther was absolutely fantabulous! It contained many a laugh.

Action movies of the 80s (such as Arnold Swartzenegger's "Total Recall") make great comdies 20 years later. Either that or watch TBL again while high (do the Big Lebowsky Challenge).

As Nobody suggested, Snatch and the other Guy Ritchie film Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Both are great.

If you liked the Big Lebowski, try some of the other films by the Coen Brothers:
Oh Brother Where Art Thou? (my personal favorite, I actually like Geogre Clooney in this film, go figure!)
Fargo (funny and twisted)
Raising Arizona (very funny)

Almost forgot, Intolerable Cruelty (another good one with Clooney)

The challenge is to drink a white russian every time the Dude does, smoke a joint everytime the Dude does and drink a beer everytime the Dude does. It amounts to something like 8 white russians, 5 joints and 3 beers... all in circa 2 hours. kids:don't try this at home!
