Update 20- March 1953

SWEDEN MODERNIZES! Sweden quickly scrapes it’s outdated air force and buys advanced jet engines from America. It also sends some partisans to Belgium.

NUCLEAR PLANT! The United States has built a Nuclear Power plant, the increased amount of power quickly helps the war effort. The US has also mobilized and is now sending over more troops than ever.

COMMONWEALTH BUILDUP! The Commonwealth has grown their military power greatly. They now plan to ship troops to Europe.

CHINA ANNEXES VIETNAM! Sending half a million new men into Vietnam, the Chinese quickly take both the north and the south. China now begins to look east at Japan. If China attacks the country, the US will be forced to intervene.

China: -175,000 Partisans, -100 Spitfires

NO MORE LONDON TANKS! The UK has disbanded all of it’s London Tanks and have replaced them with M4/A7's. more powerful and more numerous, these can go toe-to-toe with a T-34.

ISRAEL GAINS AIR SUPERIORITY! As the war rages on, Israeli pilots gain the upper hand and defeat the Syrian air force near Jerusalem, this allows the counteroffensive to capture west Jerusalem from the Syrian forces, heavy house to house fighting has started in eastern Jerusalem. Israeli forces have encircled the city however, and have entrapped 25,000 Syrian partisans. Meanwhile Syria blockades Israel after the Israelis lose a crushing naval battle. All supplies have been cut.

BALTIC FRONT!

Things in the Baltic continue to escalate as the American fleet joins with Sweden attacking the Russian Baltic fleet. The Russians are grossly outnumbered during this battle, when their Atlantic fleet arrives. 2/3 of the Russian navy now begins to fight an all or nothing effort against NATO. The Russians however were not able to withstand the attack this time however. Most of their surface ships now lie at the bottom of the sea. Their large submarine force however have escaped to their Atlantic ports, and have begun attacks against allied shipping. The capture of the Baltic allows the allied forces to begin their air campaign against Russia as Finland attacks...

Russia: -1 Carrier, -2 Battleships, -2 Pocket Battleships, -5 Heavy Cruisers, -7 Light Cruisers, -15 Destroyers, -15 Frigates, -7 Submarines
Sweden: -1 Submarine, -2 Destroyers
America: -1 Heavy Cruiser, -3 Light Cruisers, -5 Destroyers, -4 Frigates

RUSSIAN FRONT

Soon after the Baltic falls to Allied forces, Finn and Swedish forces begin their attack on Russia. Almost 300,000 Finn and Swede forces begin their assault on northern Russia. Finnish air force is destroyed in a few days after the attack however as Russian jets rule supreme. Using their air superiority, the Russians manage to stop any carrier based attacks on the mainland, as well as attacked tank and supply positions. This greatly reduces the fighting ability of the allied force. The overwhelming armor superiority allows Russia to launch crushing counterattacks against the attacking force, as their mech infantry launch hit and run attacks on the less mobile troops. The sheer numbers of troops though have been able to stand their own and have given and taken heavy casualties. The Russians may need to pull forces back to stop this assault.

Russia: -20,000 Conscripts, -5,000 mech infantry, -5,000 modern infantry -5 Mig-17, -50 T-34/50
Sweden: -20,000 partisans

AUSTRO-HUNGARIAN FRONT

The Austrian front continues a downward trend for the allies. Although Austria remains untouched, and they build up a counter offensive force, Hungry comes near falling. Almost all of the Slovakian forces have surrounded Budapest as almost 3/4 of the Hungarian army is trapped in the city. Hungry prepares to make it’s last stand in the city, while Slovakia prepares for the assault.

FRENCH FRONT

French, Portugese and Mediterranean surround the Russian army, waiting for am move against their forces. The Russian commander, General Zhukav however has different plans. He strikes into Belgium as his forces push aside the expeditionary forces. His troops then come back down and surround the Portugese troops. The entire 2nd Army was enclosed by the Russian troops. Without any orders from French command, the French and Mediterranean troops stayed put, fearing a Russian attack on their positions. The Portugese, left on their own begin to fight for their lives. Light French air is the only support they are given. After nearly a month of fighting, Portugese forces are on the edge of collapse, if something is not done, their remaining troops will be forced to surrender.

GERMAN FRONT

Norway launches a devastating assault into Germany! The Germans are forced to move their troops out of the French Front to fight. They are fighting the Norwegians tooth and nail. Although grossly outnumbered the Germans have halted the overwhelming Norwegian forces in Hamburg. House to house fighting has started as French and Norwegian bombs come from their heavy bombers. The Germans inflict nearly 2-1 casualties on the invaders as almost 20,000 conscripts freely join the army. It is only a matter of time before the Germans are broken however, but it will come at a high price. Italy attempts a fool hardy raid of Berlin, but it is too far and all of their bombers are lost to German flak and interceptors. The French destroy the German navy as it tries to escape Hamburg before the attack. The Norwegian mech infantry bypasses the slowdown in Hamburg and heads for Berlin. With Munich in disorder, Germany’s income is less than normal.

Norway: -105 Mysteres, -380 Dublin, -30 Medium Tanks, -39,000 Modern Infantry, -1,000 mech infantry
Italy: -45 Lancasters

ITALIAN FRONT

As the Mediterranean forces pull out of Yugoslavia under protest of the US and UK, Yugoslavian and Russian Jets begin to attack. Without direct order from command, only minimal naval and air support was given for the evacuation. 3 Frigates, almost 30 Mysteres and 5,000 troops are sent to the bottom of the Adriatic. Just as Italian forces prepared to blow the entrance ways to their country from Austria and Yugoslavia, Yugoslavian spies stopped the action. This allowed the Polish and Russian forces to enter northern Italy. They quickly came under fire from defenders. The Warsaw forces have been able to push onto Venice, it is unsure if fighting inside the city will begin or not.

BALKAN FRONT

ALBANIA! In Albania, the Yugoslavian forces push onto the capital. Tirana becomes a battleground as the Albanians are forced into their last stand. As Yugoslavian forces move south to meet up with their forces, the British send 2 Corps to save the nation. Yugoslavian forces are broken by the attack and are forced to retreat north. Albania has been saved. The main cause is British air superiority. The main Yugoslavian force has yet to meet British forces.

Albania: -15,000 Partisans
Yugoslavia: -30,000 modern infantry, -50 YAK
Brits: -10,000 modern infantry

V-2! Britain fires 95 V-2s into Belgrade mainly hitting residential areas. This has caused great outrage by the Yugoslavian populace, and 5,000 conscripts join the army.

FLEET STOPPED! As Romanian ships tried to exit into the Aegean, they were fired upon by British ships and submarines. The admiral decided to retreat back to port rather than be destroyed.

ROMANIA! Bulgaria, Turkey and Greece are all left alone as Warsaw pact and allied forces meet in Romania. Over 1 million total men fight in the largest campaign of the war so far. Warsaw Pact forces try desperately to stop the advancing allies, but are unsuccessful. Allied forces have now reached the port of Varna. Air power has shifted in Allied favor. Resistance is tough and casualties high the advance may be halted soon anyways.
