RedAlert's city previews

 In whatever format, thank you very much, Xen! I will definately be using these, and I'm sure other creators will find them useful as well. It feels like christmas all over again... and I'm always looking for more buildings to use in cities.
:thanx:

Actually, I had been thinking something very different....
but yours is way better!
The only thing I would suggest is that those skyscrapers might be a bit more colourful. But still, super cool.

I'm not sure I could make them more colorful, you mean blend in with the Ancient buildings? You could spruce them up, or Redify them...hehe...if you want to..

Thats actually the reason I didn't post them on the Graphics board, because I wanted them to be a part in your Era-specific Atlantian Cities.... :mischief:

After you do that, I'll take the Industrial ones, and make modern, post, and then you can apply the finishing touches if you want to...

So want do you think? Yes...no...maybe so?

That sounds great. I'll redo the ancient and medieval ones too, and then I'll put ours together. Thanks for helping out.

Xen, just .zip it to keep the size down. ;) The better quality you provide, the better stuff can be created from it. :)

I'll try that0 bear in mind, i havent a clue as to how that could be done though ;)

no problem, I mean tto try and do thsi stuff on chrsitmas actually, to give to you, but things prooved to hective for me to even sit down, and look at the art files, and find soem fo the buildings and stuff (thier ar eothers, like more hills, land ans water tiles, and lots of other stuff. the name of the game in particuler, in Blades of Avernum, if you try any avernum game, 3 is a very good starter though. In all cases, you can downloa da demo which has about 1/5-1/3 of the game in it, includin gall the art files- all one has to do to buy the game is give them a call one day, buy it, they give you a code to put in, and the entire game is yours (and a CD sent in the mail- just in case ;))

well, they are usually around $25- they are usually $32 if you get the hint book (which is actually really, REALLY worth it!)

I'm more then happy to shell out that much- its very cheap when you conside rmost games with almost no plot, and just a bunch of graphic nonsense that has you runnign around killign stuff, in a fashion that after 5 minutes, get boring as hell, run for over $60...

So I suggest them, even at 25 bucks- the things ar emore addictiong then civ 3; for me, and everyoen i know that has the game, the want sot play it com ein urges that fade, and grow like the the tides- when you first get it, you enthusiasticlly play it- then you tire of it. then 3 months later you get the urge, and for another 2 months, you play i tlike no tommorrow. then you get board. then it come sback- been off and on liek this for me mind you, for several year slonger then i've even had civ3 ;)

Hey RedAlert - just touching base on the British & American city graphics that I inquired about for the American Revolution scenario that's nearing finish. I was wondering if those previews you provided about a month ago are near completion? I greatly anticipate their finish, they will be an excellent flavor addition to the scenario. :goodjob:

Yes, they are completed, sourboy. Here are the links:

Here's the redone Atlantian ancient era. I plan to change the medieval era even more, partially to accomodate the transition to your industrial age, Sword of Geddon.

By the way, Sword of Geddon, I must say I do really like the town and city of your industrial age, but there is one thing I would like to change in your metropolis. Could I do so, with your permission of course?

Just to change or shorten or move over slightly the circled building in order to make the centre of the city more visible.

Notice I slightly modified and used the top of one of the skyscrapers from your industrial age in my medieval metropolis.

I've been 'Redifying ;)' the industrial age a bit. What I've basically been doing is just colouring it all blue and grey, but I've also added a dome here and there (I like domes :mischief: ). I've only done the town so far, but I want to make sure you're ok with what I'm doing before I move on. They're your cities, after all :)

Actually, now that I think about it, I'm not so happy with the grey I've used. I think I'll change it to a lighter, more 'clean' shade.
