Hey all,

I'm getting dozens of PMs on reddit per day about the CP/CBP, so I've decided to open up a discussion thread. Depending on the number of questions asked, I may need some help fielding questions. If you don't mind, stop by the thread here and give me a hand.

Thanks!
G

Edit: and someone has immediately downvoted the post. Awesome. I guess I should expect a sneak attack from a redditor soon. :)

Couldn't be me, I tried to find the downvote button but failed to.

Pretty active lately in reddit here. Mentioned the mod a few times over the last couple of months... soooo... sorry for the extra work hahaha. :D

Anyway /r/civ is not extremely big, so a couple of downvotes is not the end of the world. The thread is not going to get crushed under 100 new threads in one hour.

Oh I know, I was just teasing. I don't really care about the amount of votes it gets, so long as people that might be interested in the mod are able to see it.

Reddit in nutshell.

Ha, yep. That's a common question I get in PM, and a common response is 'oh well, nevermind.' I'll never (personally) understand game achievements as a source of satisfaction, but I also don't want to begrudge others that if they like it.

Two words, my friend: two words.

Instant Gratification.

Well in any case, the reactions have mostly been positive so far, so congrats :D

/r/civ is mostly safe from this, I think because of sheer numbers, but most of the gaming subreddits are absolutely swamped with downvoters for no reason that anyone can point to. Even universally beloved content on places like /r/diablo3 gets downvoted to -10 or so before the portion of the community that interacts meaningfully can discuss stuff.

TBH, I suspect bots that are targeting all content that could feasibly compete with... something? I have no idea. I'd prefer to believe that there are anti-compete bots, though, than that some huge percentage of people who games and goes to reddit is also grumpy arse-ends.

Oh, incidentally, I am /u/skyblue_aardvark over there.

I asked if we must face you alone. :p

Yeah, it is tricky. Most people treat the downvote button as an 'I don't like this' button, which is silly, as that isn't the point of the system. Anyways...

You must face me alone! Munchkin's art is my avatar here, but my real love for Gazebo came from this old, famous story:
