I compleatly agree with that map, Just remember that the capital has to be located on a new artificial island. That way, everyone will be equally mad and angry that THEIR capital didn't make it.
Another way of getting around the prestige issues is to put departments in different cities. For example the department of culture could be situated in Reykjavík, the department of defence in Helsinki and so on. Decentralisation in a typical Scandinavian way.

Also, I think we ought to give Svalbard the official title of "Vassal", their tribute could be two polar bears a year. The only reason for this is that I would really like to see a Svalbardian delegation walking up a main street with two polar bears in tow.
:snowcool: That makes us two, who really want to see that.

Yes! But a land bridge with Albania, and Kosovo given to Montenegro.

Yeah, if you go back to a few thousand BC or so. Some South Italian dialects still have some words of Greek origin.

Few thousand BC? More like 1000 AD.

Wahey Guanxi! :D

Bill means the byzantine empire though :) A large part of Italy was byzantine up to the early 11th century AD.
And surely 800BC is just the beginning. Syracuse was still greek while rome was expanding.

Surely Naples (Napoli, Napule, Neapolis) was Greek as well then?

It was indeed, until it was conquered by the Normans, pretty much. North of the Catapanate of Italy, but it had alligience with the Byzantine Empire for quite awhile, and as a result remained a Greek island in an Italian sea until it was conquered.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catepan_of_Italy for the Byzantine province of Italy.

Anyway, as people can tell by now, I'm a Grecophile, particularly a Byzantophile, though I probably have no ethnical right to do so, unlike varwnos. Through heritage, I'm probably as Catholic as you can get - Southern German and Southern Italian is the main parts of my ethnical background. (The latter can sorta mean Byzantine though! ...I guess :( )

Add yourself to the "Posters of Italian descent" category on the wiki OT forum.

well, no. i just dont count a religion as an ethnicity..

No, but it is an important factor. One could say that just because the Croatians and Serbians have a different religion and alphabet, doesn't mean they shouldn't be amalgamated into some sort of... greater southern Slavic state. But what the hell would we call it?

Just saying that by saying the Bosnian Muslims should be joined with Serbia, but the Croatians shouldn't is sort of contradictory.
