religion missing

Hi I researched a tech which should give me a religion. But instead an AI received it. And it didn't even had the required tech.

Onething might, be, that we had a mutual border and I had some cultur influence on his city. That might explain it.

Did that ever happen before??

Did you set this AI to be part of your team in the game settings? IIRC that can cause religions founded by you to go to one of their cities.

Is choose religions on? He could have discovered a different religion tech and chosen what you would normally get I guess. Or he could have gotten the tech the turn before you. Or as Clam Spammer mentioned, if he's on your team then the religion can go to him instead.
