So I thought to repost it here so it can gain a broader audience. The question, how old were you when you first played civ? As for me, it was back in 92' when I was in 8th grade (junior high). My friend gave me copies of Civ 1, simcity, and X-wings, I installed all the games, but was hooked on Civ 1 right away. I remember sitting in class, checking my watch, and thinking about how I am going to shoot those pesky Mongolian horsemen with my shiny new tanks after school.
Another benefit of Civ is that it forced me to learn to use computer, from editing all those sound and loadup settings in Autoexec and config. Before that, I was afraid to copy files to another folder under DOS since I didn't want to mess up the computer.
