Request the game admins to investigate the C3B move ?

Do we want to have the admins examine the move ?

Emp, you can't just wait until your favored vote gets one ahead and then say "that's it, let's investigate". Let it run for 3 days, that is in about 12 hours time. If yes is winning then, fine, investigate. But calling it premature like this isn't any good.

Why not? This team seems not to care about time limits on poll, not even important ones like Declarations of War. :p :p

It only really need to go on for 48 hours, and mostly everyone who will vote has voted. So ankka and Rik, start getting the stuff together, if it is a tie we wil still do it, as there is not enough time to repoll.

I am an uptight rules jackass. I am also honourable and find no reason to prolong our sojourn.

File the complaint and along with the complaint send our surrender.

Yeah, make it a bitter and pyrrhic victory that does not taste too well. That will teach the Brazillians to live by more order and less slack and "Maniana" in the future.
Obviously they need a public disciplinary lesson on the eve of our destruction.
Their slight defamation is just a bonus. I am sick and tired of slacks in demogames.

We obviously didn't win the hearts of everyone during the Joker scandal. What on earth makes you think we will get good PR from this one? The only one getting defamed will be us.

At least Rik presented it well. I would have no one but him involved in the UN proceedings.

They could not care more less about hearts, this is a game where we were targeted for destruction based on game data. Strategy always beats political correctness.
WW2 is testament to that. In fact, many of us can do fine without the "hearts" in CDZ and C3B, as we by now know what they are made of.

As the sole ethical party and the least dirty party in this game, we should have gotten our lesson by now, playing nice is not always the most competitive way to win.

So, how do we want to answer this UN question from miccofl?

Why did you allow over a full turn to be played before you made your complaint official? Given the amount of combat in the last turn the possibility of replaying should be ruled out, as there would likely be major variations in the RNG results. You never should have sent that last turn on if you expected to protest.

We just state that we followed conventional democratic procedure, and that we needed to balance the internal constitution with the UN regulations for turn delivery.

Besides, the poll was posted as soon as we got the save from CDZ, the results came later.

We did it technically by the book.

Since we are doomed anyways for IDG purposes, the reputation is not to be carried to the next game anyways. What is important is that we give C3B a dent after what they did to us. They need the reputation more than we do.

Uhh... we see barbarian moves too, as we're the last player. Don't we so see the next move of the C3B immo and they'll see it where it moved now...? In which case it would not be a double-move, we just see it now instead of next turn. :hmm:

Please don't complain about this. It will NOT help our reputation, and there will be other games later on.

Besides, as FortyJ said, we already passed on the save!

But not playing nice is exactly what we did and we sort of, you know, lost. :p

The Admin staff has met and reviewed the charges brought before it concerning C3B's alleged illegal use of the automove feature. Here are our findings:

After reviewing the saves, it is quite clear that the automove function was used. Additionally, this has not been disputed.

Rule 3.4 clearly states that such a move can be used in terrain that is visible to the team prior to the move being made. However, the rule also stipulates that the move cannot be made in contested territory.

Since these teams are currently in a state of war and there were CFC troops in the vicinity, the admin staff does consider this tile to be a contested one. We therefore feel that the use of the automove feature was illegal.

In determining the level of punishment, we attempted to ascertain the intent of the actions as well as the impact it had on the game and in particular the team(s) that was most directly affected by it.

In this case, there was no rush to defend a weak position, nor was there any clear advantage gained through the move. In fact, we both believed the move to be accidental in nature. However, to permit such actions simply because nobody got hurt would undermine the spirit of the game and therefore even this action deserves punishment as it is clearly a violation of the rules.

Therefore, as punishment for their actions, C3B will endure 1 skipped turn. This punishment shall be enforced by the admin staff as soon as possible.

We have them right where we want them now. Hey, since we submitted our complaint late, maybe their unit is still on autopilot and we can get them on the same charge this turn?

Second offense = elimination, I think......

Brilliant move to delay the protest, Rik. :hammer:

I still don't like that I had to file this official investigation request and I still don't agree with it. I just expressed the opinion as the poll showed was CFC's to the best of my abilities.
We won't win the game (nor survive) through it, but at least we saved the rules. I hope...

 One can ony dream, DZ.

Thanks Rik for submitting this request. I know you didn't want to, and I can see your guys' side. I just didn't want the fact that this game is over to be a justification to break the rules.

There is no need to justify yourself, RegentMan. After all, this is a demogame and by that nature every citizen's opinion counts as 1. More citizens wanted to file a request than there were who didn't want to do that, so my official opinion (not my own) was that CFC wanted it, so I did what I had to do.

By the way, before the playing continues we need to know what the conditions are for us with this ruling. We do have an advantage this turn we didn't have the previous turn; our troops can land. And I am not happy about that; it will only increase the already existing feeling that we purposely waited 1 full cycle before requesting the investigation.
However, if there are no restricting conditions laid upon us, the in-game situation demands that we land.

I still don't like it, but my opinion -on this- also counts as only 1.

Sometimes I really wonder if the spy led C3B to team up with the others. The plan could've been in the works for months now.

Joker was able to figure out a lot about the other teams (their alliance, ther war plans to an extent) but anyone cold have figured that out if they crunched number long enough.
