Requested Mods

^ Extensive Random Events mod exists as a part of CivUp mod. It can not be used as a standalone mod and CivUp mod itself changes gameplay so drastically, you won't recognize your Civ 5.

There is an old and forgotten standalone Random Events mod, but it's shallow and buggy.

Hi, first of all, sorry I didn't want to sift through 26 pages on this thread.

Now does anyone know of a Mod or Modder working on a Fantasy Style Mod, such as Fall From Heaven 2 or Rise from Erebus? I havent seen Kael or Valkyrion working on anything of the sort.

Those two mods were very enjoyable to play. Also sadly the War hammer MOD was never finished, I am so tired of vanilla flavors, we want some cool stuff.

Also a Real Animal spawn MOD? Wildlife wolf/drake needs to be expanded at some point.

There are some fantasy mods under construction:

Only the first one has a playable version, but it's still far from completion. The second one is being made by my humble self :)

Also search for the "Faerun Scenario" in the Steam Workshop. It's the only finished fantasy mod that I know of.

The problem is the lack of unit models that can be used for other animals.

Thank you for the quick reply.

* I looked at your Mod and I really like what you are doing with the tech tree.
Do you have any early screenies or 2D concept art?

Well, I'm not an artist so I don't have any art to show... I hope someone with artistic skills will join me in later stages of mod development, or I can "borrow" some pictures from other mods...

Yeah, all the flavors avaliable out there for all game genres are not interesting like Fall from Heaven/Rise from Erebus, I still play Rife often, there is so much replay value to that world.

i got sick of vanilla CivV too quickly, total overhaul mods is where its at!

Hello, sorry if I`ve missed it, but ...

1. are there any sound Mods. Stuff that adds more sounds like better weapons fire and such?

2. I`m also looking for something to help me change pictures like adviser pics?

I'd like to see mods that focused on more non-historic civilizations. And mods that try to chart fresher territory by not trying to balance everything with the default civs.

I could easily imagine one based on Brutal Legend. And even if not that specific IP, I can imagine one that focused on different music styles, each city being a different subgenre, each warrior a different type of fan, each building a new cultural element.

LotR and Fire/Ice have been done. So has Elder Scrolls. Other games are crying out for the treatment. I think Halo is obvious, though I didn't see any tackling that with a cursory glance. Maybe a Doom mod where you control the demons? Or a Terminator, Alien, Predator mod, as they are often seen as sharing the same universe? Throw in a human/Robocop/Ridley team and things get crazy.

I guess what I'm saying is... Not every mod has to have dozens of units that progress in the same manner as the game did. And I'd love any recommendations to that effect, if anyone has any.

I'd love to see a mod that gave culture-specific names to your Great Generals. Fed up of Aztec General Rommel and suchlike.

Some lua's would be cool:

I'd like a lua that allows a social policy to activate buying of military units with religion (in Addition to Religious Warriors)
Trade Routes with minor civs ...
A one-time culture bonus for every city you founded (similar to the City Plunder bonus from Autocracy)
a lua that gives Building (Yield / Specialist) X to the Y biggest cities you control
a lua that allows Improvements to connect certain ressources (with Wonders or Social Policies / Beliefs) ... for example Customs Houses can connect fur ...
a lua that increases the points for Great Persons from Wonders
a +x% faith bonus would be great or faith / citizen :)

Just some suggestions

I dream a more economic, politic and diplomatic management. For example, i miss a very pact like NATO (not only a weak defense pact), managing debt and credit between states, etc :p

A mod to facilitate the construction of buildings, with more speed and automation.

I would like a random leader check list. I like playing random leaders but I want to be able to remove the leaders I have played and won with before, or just for whatever reason.

I want so much.

I would like to see the Great General be able to build two types of buildings.

First is the Citadel. This would still be an advanced Fort that causes 30 points of damage to anyone who ends their turn next to it, 100% protection like before howeever it does not grab land. You must put it on your own territory or build it over an existing fort. Only the hex it is built on is sovereign. Also allows the passage of ships on coasts.

The second building type would be a base camp, or forward base. This would represent the army moving out and setting up camp wherever. This building would offer the 30 hp damage for ending your turn next to it. also it would take the 6 tiles around it and make those soveriegn territory. However you can build it anywhere, it doesn't have to be an extension to your own land. (Not within 2 hexes of an enemy city). This improvement can be destroyed in which case the whole base is lost along with the land that was grabbed.

I would like the Great Engineer to be able to build a second and third building as well.

First is the great canal. Allowed to be up to 2 (3?) hexes wide. Basically it turns the hex into water allowing ship units to pass however it also allows roads to be connected to allow units to pass.

Secondly would be a great bridge, or bridge tunnel, or chunnel. Basically it lets you connect a one or two tile gap between bodies of land with a large bridge, tunnel type project. Allowing units to pass over it free of charge as well as boats to pass below.

I love the way Galactic Civilizations dealt with the "United Nations" idea. There were random events that would be voted on during regular sessions, ranging from transferring ownership of planets (cities) to "international" agreements like limiting the kinds of warfare that are available. These UN votes were binding. A player's voting power at the UN was not based on population but rather on a dedicated yield type called "influence". These UN events often changed the course of a game, sometimes sparking wars. Leaders remembered if you had voted against them and acted accordingly.

If I had any skill modding this game, a real UN would be my highest priority.

For an experienced mod maker this one should be very easy ( I hope). I was able to accomplish this when using Attila's Mod back in the Vanilla days with a bit of cut and paste and logic. I have tried to accomplish this from within the various other mods that now include the original Attila's Mod but those mods do not suit my needs in other respects. The exact programming language and file requirements to do this from scratch escapes me despite my best efforts.

A mod that changes the word "Help" (upper right of the top panel) to the word "Civilopedia". Font size and style should remain the same as it is now. If the font size proves to be a problem with my other top panel mods I am sure I can figure out how to adjust it once I have the code in front of me. Thank you in advance for your time and effort.

Anyone in a possesion or is possible to create a mini-mod that hides year counter (example: 1075 AD)?

A wildlife resources modpack.

Giant pandas (Culture, Happiness)
Red pandas (Happiness)
Tanooki (Happiness)
Snow Leopard (Gold)
Tiger (Culture, Gold)
Rhino (Gold, Production)
Zebra (Gold, Happiness)
Giraffe (Gold, Happiness)
Lion (Culture, Gold)
Jaguar (Culture, Gold)
Parrots (Gold, Happiness)
Cougar (Culture, Gold)
Eagle (Culture, Gold)
Bison (Gold, Production, Furs)
Black bear (Furs)
Brown bear (Furs, Gold)
Wolf (Gold)
Polar Bear (Culture, Gold)
Penguin (Gold, Happiness)
Dolphins (Gold, Happiness)
Manatees (Happiness)
White shark (Gold, Production)
Komodo dragon (Culture, Gold)
River crocadile (Culture, Production)
Kangaroo (Culture, Gold)
Koala (Gold, Happiness)
Ostrich (Gold, Production)
Korean moon bear (Culture, Gold)
Sun bear (Gold, Happiness)

This kind of a modpack might be a tall order and seem like too much gameplay flavor, but it does allow for more ambient terrain art to really enjoy the distinct way that places like South America, Africa, Asia, and Australia look like on a map compared to North America, Europe, and Northern Asia.
