Hey, Civ Fanatics,
I am having that old problem where my Civ V launch won't let me choose Divx 10/11 because I need service pack 2 or greater, apparently. I have Windows 7, so the classic answer to this is that Steam is running compatability mode and you have to change that.
Except it isn't.
Other advice columns say to check it, leave, and then uncheck compatability mode to fix it.
That doesn't work either.
I am having a lot of other problems with my games and how they run (FPS is around 9 for any first person game, corrupt saved files in Sims 3 that EA support can't seem to fix, etc.). Does anyone know if this Divx 10/11 error could possibly be an issue with my hardware, or if there is something I can do myself to fix this?
I am going to be contacting Alienware soon to fix my computer, obviously things are wrong with it, but if I can play Civ V in the meantime I would be REALLY happy!
