Hi. This is my first civ game that Ive played. Anyway my question is, how the heck do I trade resources? I ask for a trade proposal to any/all other civilizations but it shows that NONE of them have any resources to trade, while on my screen I have like 5 different ones. Is this a bug or? All my cities are connected via roads. Any info is appreciated, thanks.

Yes, 2 of my outer cities are connected to 2 different civilizations (one city of each), but when I try to trade with them, no resources are shown on their side. These 2 civs have the marble resource which I need to double the speed in creating a few wonders.
edit: I dont think my cities have to be connected, I just opened up a trade with another civilization on the other side of the continent, and he had 1 resource to trade me. Of course, the resource was in red, the leader was annoyed with me.
