Resource Yield Balance

does anyone feel that the % longer GAs monopolies underperfoming?, it feels like the only civs that could really use them is brazil, persia and china. i have some ideas:
I just wish to dispel some myths.

a) increase the %, the increase is half wonder (chichen) while there is other monopolies like 20% growth (2x atermis).
This is actually not true at all. the Artemis adds food equal to 10% of pre-consumption food while growth like the monopoly, or the tradition bonus or the rationalism bonus or the Chinese/Indian UA, adds % food post-consumption.
This is actually a pretty big difference especially in bigger cities.

Let me make an example from my current game.

I have a 20 pop city that generates 20 food post-consumption, it being a 20 pop city means it consumes 40 food per turn, meaning the total food income of the city is 60 food per turn.
Artemis in this case would provide 60 * 0.1 = 6 extra food, while 20% growth would provide 20 * 0.2 = 4 extra food.

The main practical difference here is that %food(like ToA) increases the actual possible max population of the city while %growth only decreases the time it takes the city to reach its max population.

Also worth mentioning that ToA is an ancient era wonder and Chichen Itza is a renaissance era wonder.

well i didnt know that, i feel dumb not doing my homework before posting this.

it just feels that 3 more turns golden ages turns doesnt really compare with 10% production or 20 growth or any yield monopoly, you also want to get golden age bonuses like faith buildings or beliefs, and save you artists for more golden ages.

it feels more restricting compared to other monopolies.

I think all monopolies should add more yields to the tiles, so that it is always in your best interest to try to aquire more of said resource, instead of just hitting the 50% and being content.

Variety is nice. Not all monopolies should have the exact same play pattern of "get as many as you can".

Artists scale off of golden age modifiers now and had their base duration reduced, so your artists are far less useful without a few GA modifiers.

one thing to consider is that some resources like cocoa, silk, spice, dyes only spawn on forest/jungles, building a plantation actually removes 2 yields even very early on if you have herbalist. so their base yield should be low and plantation improvement high, kinda like bananas

The value of the monopoly for most plantation luxuries offsets the loss of the feature.
