Restricted or Unrestricted Leaders?

It's worth bearing in mind that the designed balance is for a civ as a whole, so some leaders do suit their civs very well, but should be balanced in other areas. Non-agnostic Grigori can be nice...

I can imagine any religion on the Grigori to be strong. And I haven't worked it out yet, but I think Organized works nicely with the Sidar. Take both Civics for +XP, toss in a no VC Altar (Final), or just a 5th rank altar, the Holy Shrine for Empyrean (another +2 to Disciples)... Could almost have a shade right as the unit is built.

I find that scrambling leaders can really upset the flavor of the game, although the randomness of the AI combinations provides some protection against unbalance. I wish there was an option that let the me pick my leader and left the others as normal.

It's worth noting that it is easy to change leader traits by editing the leaderheads file, so if you want a game with something just a little different, that's a better way to go.

Grigori can already upgrade to shadows. Of course, archs are the best use of Grig.

So, you think there's something better to upgrade them to?

Druids (that can upgrade from ranger/harl with xp and access to arena or have CRUSH)?

High Priest? How much do they suck without life mana.

Paladin/Eid? Now that would be a waste of an adventurer.

Inquisitor? Maybe.

Good luck with grigori inquisitors or organized sidar. Let us know who they work out.

I'm not thinking so much for the Adventurer upgrade options as for the whole Civ in general. Like you would be able to get the bonus to GPP from Arete and Temple of Kimorph for instance off the top of my head.

And no real intention to test this one. Haven't had time for a full game in a few months :( Doubt I will have any time till Summer at the best, and prefer to go completely random, with normal restrictions so I don't have Basium and Hyborem running around at the start of the game.
