It's true, Notre Dame isn't the most impressive exemplar of Gothic architecture, but it's probably the most iconic. If we must limit it, I propose Notre Dame for an iconic Gothic cathedral, the Mezquite for an innovative fusion of Gothic and Islamic architecture, and Westminster Abbey or Notre Dame de Reims (just call it Reims Cathedral, for clarity) for something really stunning. Cologne Cathedral would be another welcome addition, of course.
